About the Job

Requirements

  • At least 20 years of product or platform architecture experience for large-scale, cloud-native SaaS, with recent Principal or Distinguished Architect scope leading end-to-end product decisions and multi-cloud migrations.
  • Depth in EKS, AKS, GKE, service meshes such as Istio or Linkerd, observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana, platform control planes, and operators or CRDs; ability to define golden paths or paved roads for teams.
  • Expertise in data platforms and streaming, including Kafka, Flink, Spark, columnar or OLAP systems such as Druid and ClickHouse, NoSQL such as Cassandra, search such as Elasticsearch or OpenSearch, and real-time and batch patterns.
  • Enterprise-scale microservices and integration experience with API gateways, event-driven design, SOA/EAI, and technologies such as Apache Camel, Mule, WSO2, or JBoss Fuse.
  • Production experience with AI/ML and agentic AI, including ML pipelines such as MLflow, Kubeflow, or Airflow, and LLM or agent frameworks such as OpenAI APIs, LLaMA, LangChain, or LangGraph; tool use, memory, and evaluations.
  • Security, privacy, and compliance-by-design experience, including threat modeling, data classification, encryption and key management, and EU GDPR awareness through product work.
  • Ability to communicate complex trade-offs, partner with global C-suite stakeholders, and lead architecture evangelism with customers.
  • Ability to facilitate C-suite decisions and architecture reviews or steering committees using options, risk/ROI framing, written decision records, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Customer-back product thinking, including regular enterprise engagement, translating requirements into phased designs from MVP to scale, and protecting SLO, security, and privacy requirements.
  • Experience delivering across US, EU, and India time zones, building asynchronous rituals, documentation standards, and handoff mechanisms.
  • Ability to coach Staff and Principal engineers, codify paved roads for CI/CD, testing, and observability, and scale architectural patterns through ADRs and technology radars.

Responsibilities

  • Author and socialize product and platform architecture strategy; maintain architecture decision records and technology radars.
  • Lead designs for multi-tenant isolation, data models, schemas, indexing and OLAP, and event-driven systems.
  • Standardize service meshes, API gateways, policy-as-code, and multi-cloud deployment patterns.
  • Embed SRE practices, including SLOs, error budgets, incident learning, capacity planning, and chaos testing.
  • Lead threat modeling, data classification, encryption, secrets and key management, and SBOM/SLSA controls.
  • Define architecture patterns for RAG and agents, prompt and model governance, telemetry, evaluations, and fallbacks.
  • Coach Staff and Principal engineers and architects, chair architecture reviews, and build a healthy review culture.
  • Communicate architectural options and trade-offs to C-suite executives, aligning decisions with business value and customer impact.
  • Join key enterprise customer conversations, translate requirements into pragmatic designs, and define phased delivery.
  • Define the north-star architecture for a multi-tenant SaaS data platform spanning ingestion, processing, storage, query, APIs, SDKs, and user experience; establish reference architectures, decision records, and standards.
  • Drive container orchestration, service mesh, control planes, observability, and resilience across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Lead designs for high-volume streaming, low-latency queries, and analytical and ML use cases across batch and real-time workloads.
  • Partner with product and security teams to embed responsible LLM and agentic patterns, including guardrails, retrieval, and evaluations, into customer-facing and internal developer workflows.
  • Champion SRE, SOC 2, ISO, and GDPR-by-design practices, error budgets, threat modeling, and secure SDLC.
  • Improve CI/CD, test strategy, paved roads, and golden paths to reduce cognitive load and toil across teams.
  • Translate architecture trade-offs for executives and key customers and guide buy, build, or integrate decisions.

Desired Qualifications

  • Proven ownership of cross-cloud platforms, such as control planes, observability, incident management, and data lake stacks, shipped to enterprise customers.
  • Track record of reducing infrastructure cost per tenant and improving p95/p99 latency or MTTR through capacity planning, workload placement, and autoscaling patterns.
  • Programming fluency in Java, Scala, Python, Go, or Rust for code review and reference implementations.
  • Contributions to relevant open-source frameworks, such as Hadoop tuning, NoSQL ORM, Camel, or Keycloak.

About the Company

Reltio

B2B data platform with velocity packs

Reltio provides a data management platform for businesses to organize and harmonize large data sets. It uses velocity packs—prebuilt components and industry-specific data models—that can be customized to fit a company’s needs, enabling data cleansing and interoperability to deliver business value within 90 days. The product targets B2B customers across technology, finance, healthcare, and retail, and is complemented by a network of service partners (systems integrators, technology vendors, data providers, consultants) that help implement the platform. Unlike some competitors that require building data models from scratch, Reltio emphasizes rapid deployment with ready-to-use packs and an ecosystem of partners to accelerate implementation. The company's goal is to help organizations manage data efficiently and gain a competitive advantage by turning complex data into actionable insights quickly.
