PHINIA ranks 19th among Analyst Picks with strong share buybacks.

PHINIA ranks 19th among Analyst Picks with strong share buybacks. By Joel Kornblau, Editor, The Online Investor, Wednesday, October 14, 2026, 2:23 PM ET PHINIA Inc. (PHIN) ranked 19th in a screen combining favorable brokerage analyst recommendations with strong share repurchase activity. To qualify, a company had to repurchase shares equal to at least 5% of its outstanding shares over the trailing 12 months. The Online Investor ranked qualifying stocks by averaging recommendations from major brokerage firms. What the buyback and analyst ranking shows. PHINIA's position reflects two separate measures: the scale of its recent repurchases and the relative strength of analyst recommendations among companies that met the screen's buyback threshold. It does not, by itself, establish that the shares are undervalued. The ranking depends on the analysts and companies included when the screen was run, and it may change as recommendations or repurchase activity change. A buyback can signal that management sees value in its shares, but companies also repurchase stock to return excess cash or offset dilution from equity compensation. The price paid matters: repurchases create more value for remaining shareholders when shares are acquired below their underlying worth than when they are bought at an elevated valuation. How repurchases can affect earnings per share. If repurchases reduce the weighted-average share count while net income remains unchanged, earnings per share increase because the same earnings are divided among fewer shares. The effect may be limited if newly issued shares offset the repurchases. A higher earnings-per-share figure also does not necessarily indicate stronger operating performance. To assess the significance of PHINIA's buybacks, the key questions are whether its share count declined on a net basis, how much it paid for the shares, and whether the spending left sufficient capacity for operations, investment and debt obligations. Analyst recommendations provide another perspective, but the strength of the underlying business and the price paid for the stock remain central to the valuation. PHINIA stock performance. The chart below compares PHINIA's three-month share-price performance with Cummins, Inc. (CMI) and Honeywell International Inc. (HON). The companies have different business mixes, so the comparison provides market context rather than a direct measure of PHINIA's operating performance. Want to compare more broker darling stock ideas? Broker darling stories highlight stocks that analysts currently favor within a large-cap or dividend-oriented screen. Dividend yield helps show the income side of the story, but it should be reviewed with payout consistency, valuation, and recent stock movement. The signal is most useful when analyst support is reviewed with valuation, earnings expectations, dividend quality, and business fundamentals. Investors should treat the dividend yield angle as context rather than a standalone signal.

PHINIA Delphi showcases FI systems across heavy, medium-duty segments.

PHINIA Delphi showcases FI systems across heavy, medium-duty segments. PHINIA Delphi UK Ltd. showcased its full range of fuel injection and after-treatment technologies at the recently concluded IAA Transportation 2026. The range covers heavy-duty engines of up to 17 litres and beyond. The company also showed new pump developments and a growing line-up of starters and alternators for the European market. At its heavy-duty display, the company showed its complete injector system, with six injectors featuring closed-loop control. This technology keeps the injectors performing consistently throughout their working life, from day one to the end. Sharing his views to this publication, Mr. Mark Blackmore, Sales Manager, PHINIA Delphi UK Ltd. said, as a full-system supplier, the company offers injectors, pumps, rail, ECUs, and software, capable of supporting engines ranging from 11 to 17 litres. It is already exploring even larger engine applications beyond that range. The booth also featured a new addition to its portfolio, the DFP4 pump, a fresh development being showcased for the first time this year. Recognising that customer needs vary, he said it can scale its offering depending on requirements; some customers want a complete system, while others prefer to focus only on the "wet side," injectors, pumps, and rail. In the medium-duty segment, covering engine sizes between three and 8.9 litres, the components maker showcased a similar setup featuring its DFI2 injector paired with a DFP7 pump and common rail system, alongside ECU and software capability. For this segment, the company also offers a complete after-treatment system. It includes a tank-mounted SCR pump supply module and a doser. This lets PHINIA's software manage the whole process, from fuel combustion right through to the exhaust. All these systems, he confirmed, are Euro 7 ready, with dedicated concepts already developed to support customers requiring compliance with the upcoming emissions standard. The company also highlighted its starter and alternator lines of business. These product lines are already well established in the US, and PHINIA now plans to expand them into Europe, where customer interest is growing. On the shift toward software-defined vehicles (SDVs), Mr. Blackmore said it continues to regularly improve and update its software offerings, though how that software ultimately reaches the vehicle, including via over-the-air updates, remains largely the customer's responsibility. On whether SDVs might drive greater hardware standardisation, since software updates can reduce the need to redesign hardware from scratch, he acknowledged the appeal but said full standardisation remains difficult in practice. The company builds its products on common platforms, such as its DFI21 heavy-duty injector and a shared medium-duty injector base. Even so, it still has to meet customer-specific needs, such as different header designs. So, while PHINIA keeps its core designs as consistent as possible, some variation between products can't be avoided, he added.

PHINIA publishes 2026-27 emissions standards guide.

PHINIA publishes 2026-27 emissions standards guide. The guide consolidates emissions standards covering vehicles, engines, equipment and machinery. Jeff White is the Managing Editor of Counterman. He joined Babcox after a 20-year career in TV News as a Producer. You can contact him at [email protected] Published: September 28, 2026 PHINIA has published its 2026-27 Worldwide Heavy-Duty and Off-Road Emission Standards booklet. The guide provides emissions requirements across global markets for OEMs, engineers, policymakers and other industry professionals. PHINIA updates the heavy-duty and off-road edition every two years. The guide consolidates emissions standards covering vehicles, engines, equipment and machinery. Manufacturers must consider an increasingly broad range of emissions requirements. The 2026-27 booklet covers standards addressing conventional pollutants. It also covers zero-emission vehicles and greenhouse gas emissions, including CO2. The information provides a broader view of regulations affecting vehicle and engine development. Comparing emissions standards. The booklet brings together emissions limits, standard test cycles and testing conditions. It also includes references to relevant fuel standards. The guide provides an overview of onboard diagnostics and emissions monitoring. "Emissions regulation is becoming a broader engineering challenge, with manufacturers needing to understand not only requirements for traditional pollutants, but also greenhouse gases, testing, diagnostics, and monitoring across different markets. With dynamic and evolving fuel supply, this booklet also shares information regarding market reference fuels," said Todd Anderson, chief technology officer at PHINIA. "The purpose of this booklet is practical: to bring that information together in a clear reference that engineers and decision makers can use as they plan for current and future requirements. The increasing relevance of zero-emission and greenhouse gas standards makes that broader view even more important and reflects the same engineering discipline we apply as we support cleaner, more efficient combustion and the development of lower- and zero-carbon fuel technologies." Publication dates back to 1993. The publication continues a project with more than three decades of history. PHINIA's global aftermarket brand, Delphi, first developed the emissions standards booklet in 1993. Industry professionals have used the booklet to follow changing regulatory requirements. PHINIA most recently published a heavy-duty and off-road edition in 2024. The company followed it with a light-duty edition in 2025. Engineering expertise supports guide. PHINIA's work on the guide draws on its expertise in fuel systems, combustion, systems integration and calibration. That engineering knowledge supports technology development across heavy-duty and off-road applications. These technologies aim to improve efficiency and emissions performance. They also accommodate the evolving roles of conventional, lower-carbon and zero-carbon fuels.
