Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Finance, Biology, Communications, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 12–15 years of progressive leadership experience in investor relations and/or corporate communications within the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industry, including substantial leadership experience.
- Significant oncology experience supporting innovative therapeutic platforms and complex modalities such as T-cell engagers, bispecific antibodies, CAR-T or cell therapies, antibody-drug conjugates, or other advanced biologics is required.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to translate complex scientific and business developments into clear, compelling narratives are required.
- A strong understanding of capital markets, investor behavior, and biotech valuation drivers is required.
- Deep knowledge of SEC regulations, Regulation FD, disclosure obligations, corporate governance practices, and investor relations best practices is required.
- Established relationships with key investors, analysts, and media in the healthcare and life sciences space are required.
- Experience with investor relations and communications platforms and tools, and managing external agencies, budgets, and performance measurement, is required.
- The candidate must be able to influence and partner with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders, demonstrate executive presence, and counsel senior leaders.
- Experience building or significantly developing investor relations and corporate communications capabilities, infrastructure, and best practices is required.
- Experience supporting publicly traded biotechnology companies through significant clinical, regulatory, corporate development, and financing milestones is required.
- Strong writing and editorial judgment across scientific, corporate, investor, media, and employee audiences is required.
- A high level of integrity and commitment to ethical standards is required.
- The position requires authorization to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute an investor relations and corporate communications strategy aligned with the company's mission, pipeline priorities, business objectives, and long-term value creation.
- Shape the company's corporate narrative, brand identity, positioning, and messaging frameworks to strengthen its visibility, credibility, and reputation among key stakeholders.
- Build and cultivate relationships with institutional investors, analysts, and banking partners, serving as the primary point of contact for the investment community.
- Lead investor engagement and targeting activities, including conferences, non-deal roadshows, R&D and analyst days, key opinion leader webinars, analyst meetings, and other investor events.
- Develop and execute shareholder targeting and ownership strategies to attract and retain long-term institutional investors aligned with the company's investment thesis.
- Prepare senior leadership for investor conferences, non-deal roadshows, and other high-profile investor interactions, including leading development of key messages, FAQs, Q&A documents, briefing materials, and response frameworks.
- Oversee investor-facing and public communications, including earnings materials, investor presentations, scripts, press releases, website content, talking points, and executive briefing materials.
- Lead communications planning and support execution around clinical and regulatory milestones, corporate transactions, partnerships, and financing activities.
- Manage an integrated communications calendar and agenda coordinating investor, media, corporate, and internal communications and enabling proactive planning.
- Serve as a designated external representative to the investment community and media, communicating consistently with the company's disclosure policies and protocols.
- Monitor investor sentiment, stock performance, analyst commentary and coverage, peer performance, and capital markets trends, and synthesize insights to inform company strategy and messaging.
- Track sell-side models and compare them with internal forecasts to anticipate market expectations and strengthen external communications.
- Partner with Legal and Finance to support consistency, accuracy, and compliance across external communications and public disclosures, including earnings communications, investor materials, SEC disclosures, Regulation FD requirements, disclosure policies, and material event communications.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to executive leadership and the Board regarding market positioning, investor perceptions, shareholder communications, and reputational risk.
- Partner with Finance and Legal on earnings preparation, disclosure governance, financing activities, and public-company communication best practices.
- Partner with Clinical, Project Management, Regulatory, HR, Finance, and Legal to ensure communications are accurate, coordinated, and appropriate for each audience.
- Lead external investor relations and communications agencies and consultants, including scope, budgets, performance oversight, and program measurement.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
Desired Qualifications
- An advanced degree (MBA, PhD, or MS) is preferred.
- Autoimmune experience is highly preferred.
