Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university, with the degree from a school recognized by a professional accrediting organization such as the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education, British Association of Sport and Exercise Science, American Board of Sport Psychology, Association for Applied Sports Psychology, or American Psychological Association.
  • Certification as an Athletic Trainer through an accredited organization.
  • At least five years of athletic training experience.
  • Ability to be transported in government-provided ground vehicles.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Ability to work in field conditions, including inclement weather and hours of darkness.
  • Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and military environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • Improve Airmen’s mission-ready physical and mental performance and reduce preventable injuries.
  • Enhance cognitive resilience, decision-making under stress, and fatigue management.
  • Provide evidence-based human-performance programs tailored to Contingency Response Wing mission sets, including rapid airbase assessment and opening, heavy load carriage, equipment movements, aircraft handling, security operations in contested or degraded environments, extended operations with limited rest cycles, and high-tempo mobility tasks requiring repeated explosive effort.
  • Provide portable, mission-specific human-performance guidance to Airmen before deployments so they can maintain performance without contractor presence.
  • Design mission-specific human-performance solutions and field-ready sustainment options for diverse Air Force Specialty Codes.
  • Provide integrated holistic evaluations for Contingency Response Wing Airmen and facilitate timely support for strength and conditioning, functional strength, and mindfulness coaching.
  • Provide guidance and support for injury rehabilitation and return-to-performance activities within the scope of practice.
  • Work with strength and conditioning and mindfulness personnel to provide an integrated, holistic approach to Airmen performance and readiness.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • A preferred degree or background in sport psychology or related performance-enhancement, health/exercise psychology, cognitive psychology, counseling, or social psychology disciplines.
