About the job
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- At least 1 year of injury adjusting or auto liability adjusting experience is required, including complex vehicle physical damage claims such as total loss, multi-vehicle, or non-owned vehicle claims.
- Working knowledge of auto claims contracts, coverage evaluation, investigation, negotiation, adjudication, and state insurance regulations is required.
- Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills, along with sound financial judgment, are required.
- Ability to acquire and maintain required insurance adjuster licenses within 90 days, with up to three attempts, is required.
- Adjust non-attorney-involved soft tissue bodily injury and auto physical damage claims within assigned authority.
- Confirm policy coverage, investigate loss details, determine legal liability, and evaluate damages in compliance with state laws and regulations.
- Guide members through timelines and next steps with proactive service and communication.
- Partner with internal teams, business partners, and vendors to resolve claims efficiently while monitoring and managing risk.
- Participate in catastrophe response operations, which may include mandatory on-call periods, evening, weekend, or holiday work, and travel with minimal notice.
- Current experience in a Senior Auto Adjuster or Complex role, or at least 1 year as a Complex Senior Auto Adjuster, is preferred.
- At least 2 years of auto liability or casualty adjusting experience with complex or multi-vehicle claims is preferred.
- Previous experience handling total loss claims is preferred.
