Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of academic advising or other substantive student affairs work or transferable experience. OR Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered
Responsibilities
  • Assisting with the implementation of accommodations for students with disabilities
  • Assisting with counseling students on academic matters
  • Assisting with the law school’s various orientation programs
  • Assisting the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs on matters related to student activities and academic policy
Desired Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) Degree
  • 3 years of higher education student program development, student counseling, or other substantive student affairs experience in higher education
  • Strong student counseling and advising skills
  • Understanding and familiarity with the Americans with Disabilities Act, and particularly section 504 of that Act
  • Ability to develop, plan, assess, and successfully implement student programs
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to relate well to students, staff, and faculty
  • Strong judgment and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Proficient computer skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications (Word and Excel)
  • Ability to devlan, assess, and successfully implement student programs
  • Basic understanding of administrative and academic issues in higher education
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work assignments
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all work-related matters
