M42 expands in Bahrain with new Mubadala Health facility in Bahrain Bay. WAM 20 Oct 2026, 22:37 GMT+ ABU DHABI, 20th October, 2026 (WAM) - M42, a global health leader powered by artificial intelligence (AI), technology and genomics, today announced plans to develop Mubadala Health Bahrain, a new multidisciplinary healthcare facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, marking the next phase of M42's expansion in the country to serve the Bahraini people. The announcement was made during the Abu Dhabi Future Health Summit, alongside the signing of a strategic agreement between M42 and the Future Generation Reserve (FGR), a Bahrain Government fund, securing a location in Bahrain Bay for the new seafront facility. The development will become M42's second healthcare facility in Bahrain, strengthening the group's presence in the country and its commitment to expanding specialised care across the region. It also builds on the longstanding relationship between Bahrain and the UAE, reinforcing how cross-border partnerships can support healthcare investment and strengthen national capabilities. Sheikh Fahad bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Chairman of Mubadala Health Bahrain, said, "Mubadala Health Bahrain is a strategic addition to Bahrain's healthcare landscape. By bringing specialised services into an integrated seafront facility, we are creating a trusted destination that supports the Kingdom's healthcare priorities and brings high-quality clinical expertise closer to patients." Developed through a joint venture between M42 and HealthVision, its Bahraini partner, Mubadala Health Bahrain will combine multidisciplinary care, international clinical expertise and local delivery capabilities in one destination. Dimitris Moulavasilis, Group Chief Executive Officer of M42, said, "Bahrain is an important part of M42's regional growth strategy and our ambition to expand access to world-class healthcare. Mubadala Health Bahrain reflects how we are building that growth through trusted partnerships, long-term commitment and care models designed to strengthen health system resilience and serve populations. Together with our partners, we are supporting better access, stronger clinical capability and more connected healthcare across the region." The strategic agreement with the FGR, which was established under Bahrain's Ministry of Finance and National Economy, secures Bahrain Bay as the location for the new facility. The location positions Mubadala Health Bahrain within one of the Kingdom's leading seafront developments and supports Bahrain Bay's diversification into high-value sectors and services. Sheikh Ali bin Salman Al Khalifa, Chief Executive Officer of the FGR, said, "The Future Generations Reserve Fund was established to support Bahrain's long-term national development through strategic investments that create sustainable value for current and future generations. This agreement embodies that vision by bringing Mubadala Health to the Future Generations Reserve Tower in Bahrain Bay, reinforcing the project's investment appeal and Bahrain's position as a destination for high-quality investments, while supporting community health, economic resilience and quality of life." Mubadala Health Bahrain will provide services across 20 specialties, including six surgical inpatient specialties at launch. Its planned clinical offering includes endocrinology, dentistry, gastroenterology, gynecology, internal medicine, cardiology, orthopedics, pediatrics, plastic surgery, urology, general surgery, ear, nose and throat care, oncology, dermatology, ophthalmology, neurology and physiotherapy, while also introducing pioneering services in longevity, precision medicine, genomics, artificial intelligence, and wellness, representing a transformative step in the evolution of healthcare delivery in the Kingdom. The facility is expected to employ approximately 200 people with a strong focus on Bahrainization, creating skilled employment opportunities that support the development of local healthcare capabilities. Dr. Mohamed Ameen AlSaati, Chief Executive Officer of M42 Bahrain, said, "We extend our deepest gratitude and appreciation to the Government of Bahrain, the Bahrain Economic Development Board and Tamkeen, who have been instrumental in enabling M42's growth and contribution to the Kingdom's healthcare sector. Building on this strong foundation, our priority now is translating this milestone into delivery. We are focused on building a facility that is clinically strong, operationally ready and anchored in Bahrain's needs from day one. Mubadala Health Bahrain will also create meaningful opportunities for local healthcare professionals and help develop Bahraini talent in specialised areas of care." Mubadala Health Bahrain represents a long-term investment in Bahrain's healthcare sector and reflects M42's broader approach to regional growth: combining global clinical expertise with strong local partnerships to build sustainable healthcare capacity, capabilities and expertise in the markets it serves. The development also demonstrates the growing depth of UAE-Bahrain collaboration in healthcare, translating longstanding ties into investment, infrastructure and specialist clinical capacity. Through Mubadala Health Bahrain, M42 is strengthening its contribution to Bahrain's healthcare ambitions while advancing a regional model focused on bringing high-quality specialised care closer to communities and building stronger, more resilient health systems.

Al Breiki said, in remarks to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), that the importance of this ranking stems from its being issued by an independent body widely respected in the sector. He explained that including the free zone among the world's top ten free zones gives current and future investors reliable evidence of the quality of the services it provides and confirms that more than 2,800 companies made the right decision by choosing it as their business headquarters. Competitive advantages He noted that the free zone provides international companies with competitive advantages, including issuing licenses within one day, allowing 100% full foreign ownership, and exemption from personal income tax, in addition to the possibility of conducting business inside the free zone or in Abu Dhabi through the dual-license system. He added that sustainability is a fundamental pillar in the design of Masdar City, contributing to lower operating costs and supporting companies in achieving their environmental, social, and governance goals, affirming continued focus on providing the best services to investors. He explained that the free zone also receiving special recognition in the 'Knowledge Zones' category at both the global and regional levels embodies the objective for which it was established: to provide an integrated environment that accelerates the transformation of ideas into commercial projects by bringing researchers, entrepreneurs, and investors together in one ecosystem. He noted that this environment enables collaboration among researchers at Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, startup founders, and investors working with The Catalyst platform. Company establishment procedures He explained that the free zone has sought to simplify company establishment procedures, with licensing costs through the Unified Services Window starting from AED 7,000, more than 1,200 business activities available, partnerships with banks, the launch of the Emirati Package to support citizens in establishing and growing their companies, and an agreement with the Fazaa program granting eligible employees at registered companies membership benefits. He affirmed that the goal is to make company establishment and growth an easy and straightforward process. He said that the business community in the free zone supports the objectives of Abu Dhabi's Falcon Economy by focusing on six main clusters, including artificial intelligence, agricultural technology, life sciences, energy, smart mobility, and space technology. He noted that the integration of these sectors enhances innovation and generates new growth opportunities. He added that AI companies operate alongside Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence and the Advanced Technology Research Council, while energy and sustainability companies are located near the International Renewable Energy Agency and Siemens Energy, in addition to the UAE Space Agency. He pointed out that Masdar City succeeded during 2024 in reducing energy consumption intensity by 22.7% according to independent verification.

M42 advances Central Asia ambitions as Diaverum enters Kyrgyzstan, marks 10 years in Kazakhstan.

M42 advances Central Asia ambitions as Diaverum enters Kyrgyzstan, marks 10 years in Kazakhstan. 22 Sep 2026 15:06 ABU DHABI (WAM) M42, a global health leader powered by artificial intelligence (AI), technology and genomics, today announced that its world-leading renal care business, Diaverum, is opening its first clinic in Kyrgyzstan, marking an expansion for M42 in the Central Asia region. This expansion comes as Diaverum celebrates its 10-year anniversary in Kazakhstan, the largest country in the region, and follows M42's strategic partnership with Uzbekistan's Ministry of Health to collaborate and explore opportunities for strategic partnerships on the Uzbek Genome Programme. Combined, M42's growing presence in the region reflects its ambition to support healthcare systems by combining specialised care delivery with capabilities in genomics, AI, and digital health. Located in Bishkek, the new Diaverum clinic in Kyrgyzstan creates a platform for future growth and collaboration with the local healthcare system. Nearly half a million adults in Kyrgyzstan are estimated to be living with chronic kidney disease, with recent research indicating a prevalence of 10.8% among the country's adult population, underlining the need for accessible, high-quality renal care. The clinic's official inauguration was hosted by Amantur Ryskulov, General Manager, Diaverum Southeast Asia and Central Asia, and attended by Ziyad Kabli, Chief Operations Officer, M42 Middle East and Asia, together with other members of the regional leadership team at M42; Mohamed Salmeen, Head of Support Services, Consular Affairs and Nationals Services Section at the UAE Embassy in Bishkek; Nurlan Mamyrov, Honorary Consul of Sweden to the Kyrgyz Republic; the management of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic and the National Investment agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as senior representatives from public health authorities and other government bodies. The clinic will begin operations with 15 dialysis stations running three shifts from Monday to Saturday, with the potential to expand capacity to 20 stations over time. It will introduce Diaverum's established AI-enabled, patient-centred Care Delivery Model, combining international clinical standards, strong clinical governance and local expertise to support safe, consistent and high-quality care. While initially focusing on delivering high-quality dialysis services, the Bishkek clinic aims to work with local healthcare stakeholders to support a broader approach to kidney health, including prevention, early intervention, peritoneal dialysis, home care and the coordinated management of related health conditions. Group Chief Executive Officer of M42, Dimitris Moulavasilis, commented on the opening, "At M42, we are building a global health intelligence platform that brings together clinical expertise, technology, data and genomics to address complex health challenges. Our growth in Central Asia demonstrates how our model can support different healthcare priorities from specialised renal care in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan to advancing prevention-first care in Uzbekistan. Through strong local partnerships, we aim to contribute to more connected, sustainable and future-ready healthcare systems across the region that serve people with their healthcare needs." Chief Operating Officer, Middle East & Asia at M42, Ziyad Kabli, said, "Central Asia is an important growth region for M42, and our approach is grounded in long-term collaboration aligned with local healthcare priorities. Kazakhstan demonstrates what can be achieved through sustained commitment, while our entry into Kyrgyzstan expands access to high-quality renal care. Alongside our partnership in Uzbekistan, these developments demonstrate M42's commitment to more integrated, preventive and data-enabled healthcare across the region." The expansion into Kyrgyzstan builds on Diaverum's decade-long contribution in Kazakhstan. Since entering the country with nine clinics, Diaverum has grown into Kazakhstan's largest private dialysis provider, operating a nationwide network of more than 55 clinics, serving thousands of patients and employing over 1,000 healthcare professionals and support staff. As M42 continues to expand globally, its engagement across Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan demonstrates its diverse capabilities to support the priorities of different healthcare systems.
