Requirements
  • A Master’s degree in nursing is required.
  • The candidate must be eligible for or currently hold licensure to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
  • The candidate must have medical-surgical nursing experience.
  • The candidate must have knowledge and skills related to innovative teaching methodologies, curriculum development, evaluation, and supporting students in their development as advanced practice nurses, or willingness to acquire these skills.
  • The candidate must demonstrate ongoing clinical competency and participate in professional activities related to their area of clinical expertise.
  • The candidate must participate in scholarly activities apart from personal academic pursuits.
  • The candidate must possess strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate curriculum and student learning experiences across classroom, laboratory/simulation, and clinical settings.
  • Collaborate with faculty on course planning and projections.
  • Identify needed resources.
  • Oversee the selection of clinical preceptors and clinical sites.
  • Oversee student clinical placement and progression.
  • Collaborate with the Chair of Programs, Associate Deans, Dean, and support services to achieve program outcomes.
  • Teach future nurses in classroom and clinical settings using contemporary and innovative teaching methodologies.
  • Advise and mentor students.
  • Serve on College committees as assigned and participate in College and University activities throughout the year.
  • Participate in recruitment activities of the College and University.
Desired Qualifications
  • A doctoral degree in nursing is preferred; candidates without one must be currently enrolled in a doctoral program.
  • Previous teaching experience is preferred.
  • Current clinical practice, scholarship, and service to the community are desired.
