Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or GED Certificate is required, although additional related experience may be substituted.
  • Three years of experience in a high-volume food establishment is required.
  • A National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation ServSafe Protection Certificate is required, or it must be obtained within the first 6 to 12 months of employment and maintained throughout employment.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to perform the duties of the position is required.
  • Cashier experience is required.
  • Customer service and hospitality orientation are required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide patient-centered service and actively contribute to creating a friendly, welcoming, and safe environment for University Hospital customers.
  • Communicate clearly to ensure understanding and respond to complaints and concerns by resolving issues immediately whenever possible.
  • Organize work processes to accommodate customer needs, including internal customers and coworkers, meet or exceed customer service expectations, act as a role model for Service Excellence, maintain professional composure in the workplace, and work effectively with the team to meet or exceed customer service score targets while demonstrating respect for patient rights.
  • Maintain quality services in any of the retail food venues.
  • Oversee daily operations and inventory levels to ensure the unit is operationally sound and optionally merchandised to meet sales goals.
  • Maintain accurate financial and cash-handling records and procedures, and assist the Assistant Manager with creating daily assignment sheets.
  • Assist in developing and implementing performance improvement plans and evaluate operational systems to meet department and regulatory agency code standards.
  • Understand and adhere to University Hospital's compliance standards, including its Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct, and Conflict of Interest Policy; remain current on pertinent federal, state, and University Hospital regulations, laws, and policies; and perform other related duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Barista experience is highly desirable.
