About the company

Hastee provides Earned Wage Access (EWA) as an employee benefit through employers, letting workers withdraw a portion of already earned wages before payday via a mobile app, typically up to 50% of accrued pay. The service integrates with employers' payroll and HR systems and is free for employers to implement, while Hastee funds the advances and is repaid on the scheduled payday; revenue comes from small withdrawal fees, with the first withdrawal each month often free up to a limit. In addition to EWA, the platform offers tools such as an earnings tracker, automated weekly salary withdrawals, and personalized financial education to support financial wellbeing. Hastee was acquired by Zellis Group in June 2025 to integrate its liquidity and wellbeing tools into a broader suite for employers, with a goal of reducing financial stress and improving employee engagement and retention.

What believers are saying

  • Zellis said Hastee strengthens offerings across Zellis, Moorepay, and Benifex in 2025.
  • June 2026 National Coalition for Workplace Savings gives Hastee fresh policy credibility.
  • Hales Group sponsorship in 2026 signals continued employer interest in Hastee's wellbeing positioning.

What critics are saying

  • Wagestream dominates UK EWA; Hastee risks commoditization and pricing pressure by 2026.
  • EWA sits outside FCA credit regulation today; any new FCA rules would crush unit economics.
  • If Zellis integration stalls, Hastee becomes a feature, not a standalone employer brand.

What makes Hastee unique

  • June 2025 Zellis acquisition embeds Hastee inside payroll, HR, and benefits workflows.
  • Hastee co-founded the 2023 EWA Code of Practice with government-backed payroll bodies.
  • Hastee combines earned wage access, financial education, and money management tools.

Hales announces Hastee as sponsor for Hales Hero of the Year Award at Hales Group Awards 2026. Hales Group is pleased to announce Hastee as the sponsor of the Hales Hero of the Year Award at the Hales Group Awards 2026, a new group-wide initiative celebrating the people who make a difference across homecare and recruitment. The Hales Group Awards build on the success of the Hales Heroes scheme, which has recognised and rewarded care professionals across the business since 2017. The new awards bring together colleagues from across Hales Homecare, Hales Jobs and the wider group, recognising excellence, dedication and impact across the entire organisation. The Hales Hero of the Year Award recognises an individual who consistently goes above and beyond in their role, demonstrating outstanding commitment, compassion and impact while truly living Hales Group's values. Hastee, a financial wellbeing platform supporting employees with flexible access to earned pay and money management tools, shares Hales Group's commitment to supporting and empowering the workforce. Madeline Hannan-Jones, Strategic Customer Success Manager, commented: "We're proud to partner with Hales Group on the Hero of the Year Award. At Hastee, we're focused on helping employees feel more in control of their financial wellbeing and better supported in everyday working life. This award reflects a shared commitment to recognising and celebrating the people who make such a positive difference across the organisation." Recognition matters, and it's fantastic to have the support of partners like Hastee, who share our commitment to celebrating the individuals committed to our services." The Hales Group Awards aim to highlight the impact of individuals and teams who embody the organisation's values (Help, Advise, Listen, Encourage and Support) while making a meaningful difference to the people and communities they serve. Winners will be announced at the Hales Group Awards 2026 ceremony on Thursday, 4 June.
