  • Maintain a transparent, outcome-driven roadmap across concurrent initiatives, balancing regional needs with shared capabilities and adapting priorities as customer insights, business results, and market conditions evolve.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related field.

Emerging markets to add $8.7T in online spending by 2036, mostly from shoppers without credit cards

Asia will add 702 million middle-class adults between 2026 and 2036, three-quarters of all middle-class growth in emerging markets, according to a study by World Data Lab (WDL) and payments firm EBANX. Global online spending is set to grow from $11 trillion to $25.6 trillion over the period. Emerging markets will add $8.7 trillion, or 60% of the increase, led by China ($4.7 trillion) and India ($1.3 trillion). Most of these shoppers will not use credit cards. By 2036, only 20% of adults in emerging markets will hold one, against 66% in developed markets. The world will add 834 million online buyers but only 281 million card holders. Consumers aged 45 and over will account for 51% of emerging-market spending growth. "If your checkout only takes credit cards, you are competing for one in five adults in emerging markets and conceding the other four," said Marie-Elise Droga, EBANX's chief revenue officer.

Early data shows tokenised wallet processing achieved 94.4% approval rates, an 11-percentage-point improvement over non-tokenised transactions. Average order values ran 23.5% higher than standard card purchases. The company, founded in Brazil in 2012, now processes over 4 million daily transactions across 400-plus payment rails.
