- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology.
- Radiology technologist license, as required by the state.
- ARRT certification, as required by the state.
- BLS certification, as required by individual ASC policy.
- Demonstrate competence in x-ray and fluoroscopy technologist skills.
- Demonstrate competence in selecting exposure factors and positioning patients, consistently producing high-quality images.
- Demonstrate competence and proficient use of equipment.
- Adequately troubleshoot equipment problems.
- Proficiently practice radiation safety for self and patient, wear radiological monitoring devices, and adhere to principles of radiation protection.
- Maintain established safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Follow the center exposure control plans for bloodborne and airborne pathogens.
- Operate imaging equipment and perform diagnostic x-rays, if applicable, on patients as ordered by the physician and under the physician's guidance.
- Assist in preparing operating and procedure rooms as needed.
- Document radiation duration, test equipment weekly, examine protective x-ray aprons for integrity, and document test and examination results.
- Maintain documentation, logs, equipment reports, and other records related to the radiology services offered at the center.
- Oversee and manage required equipment maintenance by following cleaning, care, storage, and calibration procedures as directed.
- Prepare for procedures by assembling necessary supplies and positioning aids according to the physician's preference card.
- Report infractions of established safety, environmental, and infection control standards to a supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of one year of fluoroscopy experience.
