Barry's debuts Mobile Studio concept, taps Abercrombie for workout collection.

Barry's debuts Mobile Studio concept, taps Abercrombie for workout collection. Published: September 29, 2026 1/3 free articles used this month. The boutique fitness giant will debut its portable Run x Lift studio at Austin City Limits alongside a new activewear collection with Abercrombie's YPB Barry's is taking its signature Red Room beyond the studio. The boutique fitness giant is launching Barry's Mobile Studio, a portable version of its Run x Lift experience built from four interlocking shipping containers. The concept will make its debut Oct. 2-3 at the Austin City Limits music festival in partnership with YPB, Abercrombie & Fitch's activewear brand. Designed to replicate a traditional Barry's studio on the road, the mobile concept features 10 to 12 Woodway treadmills, 15 floor spots, mirrors and the brand's signature red lighting, along with a front desk and retail boutique. The launch gives Barry's a new way to bring its workout to major events without needing a permanent studio, potentially extending the brand into places where consumers may not otherwise encounter it. Austin City Limits, which Barry's says is expected to attract 450,000 people, will be the first stop. Festival attendees can purchase a pop-up class credit and reserve workouts through Barry's website or app. Barry's teams with Abercrombie. The mobile studio debut will double as a showcase for a new activewear collection co-designed by Barry's and Abercrombie's YPB. Barry's instructors provided fit and design input for the collection, which draws inspiration from the Red Room with red accents alongside black and neutral pieces designed to be worn both inside and outside the studio. The collection launches on Abercrombie's website Oct. 1 before arriving Oct. 15 on Barry's website and at 75 Barry's studios globally. Barry's worked with BeaverFit to develop the mobile studio, marking the first time the fitness equipment and training infrastructure company has created a mobile workout experience with a fitness brand, according to the companies. BeaverFit's container-based training environments have previously been used by the U.S. military and NATO forces, along with universities and fitness clubs. For Barry's, the concept creates a portable extension of a physical footprint that has reached 100 studios across 19 countries. At last year's ATN Innovation Summit, Barry's announced its intention to expand more aggressively across the U.S. and internationally after it received a strategic investment from PE firm Princeton Equity Group.

Yamaha gives Barry's Kuwait studio sonic muscle.

Yamaha gives Barry's Kuwait studio sonic muscle. September 15, 2026 KUWAIT: When Barry's opened its new fitness studio in Kuwait, the global fitness brand needed an audio system capable of matching the intensity of its signature 50-minute 'Red Room' workouts without compromising the venue's sleek interior. Yamaha Music Gulf, together with local partner Adawliah Electronics Co, designed and installed a system built around an eclectic mix of products from Yamaha Professional Audio, comprising the DXR10 mkII and DXS15 mkII powered loudspeakers, complemented by VXH6 pendant speakers. Founded in 1998, Barry's has grown from its original West Hollywood studio to a global premium fitness brand operating in more than 20 countries. Its high-intensity interval training combines strength and cardio, with the surrounding environment forming an important part of the experience. At the Kuwait facility, the brief called for powerful, immersive sound across the open-plan studio, while retaining sufficient control for quieter warm-up and cool-down periods. The audio system also had to integrate with the building infrastructure without interfering with the fitness equipment or the studio's visual design. Following a comprehensive site analysis, Yamaha Music Gulf and Adawliah Electronics Co specified DXR10 mkII powered loudspeakers alongside DXS15 mkII powered subwoofers for the main studio. The two-way DXR10 mkII is capable of 132 dB SPL, while the DXS15 mkII extends low-frequency response to 40 Hz and delivers a maximum SPL of 135 dB. Together, the systems provide the main studio with full-range reinforcement while maintaining a relatively discreet footprint. The reception area, stretching room and corridor are covered by Yamaha VXH6 pendant speakers, which provide 120° dispersion and 300 W power handling for background music reproduction. The VXH6 units are powered by an XMV4280-D multi-channel power amplifier operating in high-impedance (100V) mode, with system processing and control handled by a Yamaha MTX5-D digital signal processor, three MCP1 multimedia control panels and the iPad-based ProVisionaire Control app. The MTX5-D manages audio routing and processing, with music streamed from two laptops via Dante Virtual Soundcard. The system also includes two wireless microphones for gym instructors and an additional input for other sources via a WiFi router. Digital connectivity between the processor and amplifier provides the system's signal path with minimal interference. For day-to-day operation, the MCP1 panels and ProVisionaire Control allow staff without technical expertise to adjust volume and change sources. Engineers can also access the system remotely, allowing issues to be addressed without necessarily being on site. "The system was designed to hit 100 dB, but during testing it reached 105 dB with ease. It now runs comfortably below 98 dB, giving Barry's the headroom they need without sacrificing clarity," says Ahmad Jaber of Adawliah Electronics Co. "The result is a crystal clear, well balanced soundscape which has transformed the gym atmosphere, making it sound as good as it looks. The system is powerful, reliable and built to keep up with every beat of every workout. This is the first Yamaha installation for the Barry's franchise, but it won't be the last. The Yamaha speakers have helped our space drastically by providing a well balanced and high clarity sound throughout the amenity," adds Amira Moghaddam, Operations Manager at Barry's Kuwait.

ATEAM launches the official dating app of wellness.

ATEAM launches the official dating app of wellness. Built to move members beyond the screen, ATEAM brings a new approach to dating centered on shared values, real-world experiences and intentional connection. New York, NY / Sep 7, 2026 / ATEAM ATEAM today announced the launch of its digital app, an application-based membership uniting a community dedicated to wellness and mindful living. Lifestyle optimization has transformed how people think about movement, nutrition, sleep and longevity, yet relationships are often left out of the conversation. ATEAM brings connection into that equation, creating a platform for people who see how they live as an important part of who they choose to meet. Co-founded by husband-and-wife team Dan Ilani and Megan Baldwin, ATEAM is a platform for deliberate connection, with an intentionally limited format that discourages endless swiping, ghosting and match collecting. Instead, ATEAM encourages members to be more considerate about who they engage with and more decisive about taking the next step. "Dating apps have become very good at keeping people on dating apps," says Dan Ilani, Founder of ATEAM. "We created ATEAM to do something different: help people connect around shared values and give them a reason to meet in real life." DESIGNED FOR MEANINGFUL CONNECTION Wellness technology has made remarkable strides in personalizing the individual experience, providing consumers with tailored regimens, solo workouts and screen-based accountability. ATEAM operates on the premise that technology is most powerful when it facilitates human connection, not replaces it. Built without a traditional "like" button, daily use on the app is capped at 11 minutes, and members are limited to five open conversations at a time. To meet someone new, users must first close the loop on existing conversations. These intentional features are designed to curb the endless swiping, ghosting and match hoarding that have come to define many traditional dating apps. ATEAM'S GROWING WELLNESS COMMUNITY Following the brand's launch in New York this spring, ATEAM has grown a waitlist of more than 10,000 people while building a community through its real-world-first model. From studio partnerships to social and wellness events, more than 2,000 people have attended ATEAM's in-person programming. The brand launched its ongoing Date Night Series in partnership with more than 15 leading fitness and wellness communities across New York City, including AARMY, Brooklyn Track Club, Fuze House, Gotham Boxing, SoulCycle, The Yard and more. The Date Night Series was designed to redefine what a first date looks like - starting with movement, rather than small talk. ATEAM brought that same philosophy to the Hamptons this summer, hosting a summer-long wellness series of beachside workouts, recovery sessions and community building alongside partners including Diplo's Run Club, adidas, Life Time, Barry's, SoulCycle, The Surf Lodge, Gurney's and La Fermière. "We've seen how naturally people connect when they begin with something they already care about," says Ilani. "The app allows us to scale that experience to the thousands of people who have been waiting to join ATEAM." ATEAM will expand its in-person footprint beyond New York, with programming planned across West Palm Beach, Miami, Los Angeles, Dallas and Austin, fostering community through movement and connection in some of the country's key fitness, wellness and lifestyle markets. About ATEAM ATEAM is a private, application-based dating community bringing together people through shared values around health, lifestyle and intentional living. Through its digital platform and real-world programming, ATEAM creates more considered ways for members to meet and form meaningful relationships. The company is rooted in an existing health and fitness ecosystem and shaped by a founding committee across fitness, wellness, and culture, creating a high trust, high quality membership by design.
