About the company

Steno provides court reporting and litigation-support services for the legal industry, including certified reporters for depositions, hearings, and trials, plus remote deposition services through its proprietary platform Steno Connect. Additional offerings include videography, interpretation, and transcription. The platform supports secure video conferencing and exhibit handling, making virtual proceedings easier to manage. The company uses a deferred payment model called DelayPay, allowing law firms to defer payment until a case is resolved to improve cash flow. Steno differentiates itself with its combined suite of services, a dedicated remote-deposition platform, and a payment option that eases cash flow for law firms. Its goal is to streamline the deposition and trial process for legal professionals by offering accessible, technology-enabled services that replace or augment traditional court reporting agencies.

Steno launches Litigation Genius open beta to analyse full case files with AI

Steno, a court reporting and litigation support company, has launched an open beta of Litigation Genius, an AI workspace that lets litigation teams analyse full case files. The tool is built into the Steno Firm Dashboard and was announced in Los Angeles on October 13, 2026. It builds on Transcript Genius, Steno's first AI product, which analysed deposition transcripts. Litigation Genius adds pleadings, medical records, financial documents, images, discovery responses, and correspondence, including transcripts from other providers. Users ask questions in plain English and receive answers with page-level citations to source documents. Analysis can start when a Steno transcript arrives, with no exports, uploads, or extra logins. "Real value comes from technology that is integrated into your existing workflows," said chief executive officer Prabhdeep Singh. Steno clients can access the beta now through the dashboard. Feedback will shape future development.

Steno launches Litigation Genius + Product Walk Through.

Steno launches Litigation Genius + Product Walk Through. Steno, the AI-enabled court reporting and litigation support company, has launched the open beta of Litigation Genius - see AL TV Product Walk Through below. It can do plenty, although its ability to handle handwriting, along with images and social media posts, at the same time as the more regular text documents, is particularly noteworthy. Here's an overview of some of its features: * 'Automatic Case Setup: Completed Steno court reporting jobs automatically create a case in Litigation Genius populated with transcripts and marked exhibits, so teams start with the case, not a blank slate. * Multi-Format Case Files: Upload pleadings, medical records, financial documents, discovery responses, and transcripts from other providers, or import them from Google Drive and Dropbox. * Litigation Genius also reads handwritten notes and images, including screenshots and social media posts. * Source-Cited Answers: Responses come from the case materials, with clickable citations to the exact file and page, so users can check each one. * Self-Generating Case Overviews and Timelines: Litigation Genius builds an executive summary for each matter, along with a timeline that grows with the case. * Guided Prompting: Litigation Genius suggests questions drawn from each case file, and the Improve Prompt button refines a user's question to elicit more targeted answers.' And here's the AL TV Product Walk Through. You can watch in the page or go direct to the AL TV Channel. The company added that the new capabilities are built directly into the Steno Firm Dashboard, and expands on Transcript Genius, letting litigation teams analyze their deposition transcripts alongside the rest of their case files. Prabhdeep Singh, Chief Executive Officer of Steno, commented: 'Litigation Genius shows that real value comes from technology that is integrated into your existing workflows, not from bolting complex software onto a service. Because Steno transcripts and exhibits are already in the dashboard, Litigation Genius gives your team a running start on every case with a Steno deposition.' Express Tickets are now available for the landmark Legal Innovators New York conference at Convene - Nov 17 and 18 - Midtown, please see here and below. For those at law firms or within inhouse teams tickets are complimentary, if you qualify. Please see Express Registration Form.

LegalZoom co-founder Brian Lee joins Steno board.

LegalZoom co-founder Brian Lee joins Steno board. AL doesn't often do board roles, but this is a biggy, so...Steno, the court reporting and AI-driven litigation support pioneer, has appointed Brian Lee to its Board of Directors. Lee co-founded LegalZoom in 2000 - which was then seen as a ground-breaking venture for this sector, as it provided consumers and small businesses with affordable online legal help. After leaving his full-time role at LegalZoom, Lee went on to become a serial entrepreneur, taking on senior positions at, and/or co-founding, several other companies that included: ShoeDazzle, The Honest Company, BAM Ventures, Art of Sport, and Arena Club - sometimes with celebrity involvement, such as with Kobe Bryant. Steno noted that Lee 'guided LegalZoom through immense early growth, expanding revenue beyond $300 million and laying the foundation for its eventual public offering (NASDAQ: LZ) at a $7 billion market capitalization'. Now, Lee - who long ago worked as a lawyer at Skadden - has come back to the legal world. The move also follows Steno's $49 million Series C funding round earlier this year. Lee commented: 'In litigation support, software alone cannot replace the reliability, high-touch execution, and trust that attorneys need when bringing a case to trial. Steno stands out because it prioritizes the client experience, treating service as a core strength rather than an afterthought. I am thrilled to join the board and help Prabhdeep [the CEO] and the leadership team scale Steno's service-first model across the legal industry.' Prabhdeep Singh, Chief Executive Officer of Steno, added: 'Steno's strength is in its hybrid model: Artificial Lawyer deliver white-glove, concierge-level services alongside AI and legal tech tools built specifically for litigators. 'Brian understands how to build market-defining service companies in the legal sector better than anyone. His experience expanding LegalZoom from an early concept into an industry standard will be invaluable as we continue to scale our footprint as a top-tier litigation support partner.' Legal Innovators UK - Nov 4 and 5 / Legal Innovators New York - Nov 17 and 18 Cosmonauts have now opened Express Registration for Legal Innovators UK and New York. This means that if you are at a law firm or at an inhouse legal team you can now zoom directly to your tickets - which are complimentary as long as you qualify. He also co-founded The Honest Company, which reached $300 million in revenue within three years, along with ShoeDazzle and Art of Sport.
