  • Proficiency with AI-powered design tools, such as Figma AI features, Claude, Gemini, or similar tools, for design iteration, research synthesis, and documentation.
  • Ability to strategically integrate AI throughout the design process to accelerate delivery while maintaining quality, including exploring design variations and concepts, analyzing research and identifying patterns, and creating specifications and documentation.
  • A strong grasp of user-centered design, including usability and accessibility, and the ability to validate AI-generated outputs against these principles.
  • Ability to iterate designs efficiently using AI to explore options and human judgment to make final decisions.
  • Ability to identify and articulate user problems clearly.
  • Ability to communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and stakeholders early and regularly.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver product design in a collaborative team environment, using AI tools to accelerate iteration while maintaining design quality and user-centered outcomes.
  • Partner with Product Managers, Engineers, and UX Researchers to define insights-driven user problems, requirements, constraints, and scope, and solve the right problems early and with a lean approach.
  • Plan and conduct iterative design activities, including UX audits, heuristic reviews, design critiques, journey mapping, concepting and ideation, AI-assisted rapid prototyping, user scenarios and flows, information architecture, wireframes, low-, mid-, and high-fidelity prototypes, visual design, copywriting, illustration, interactive user interface designs, animation, video and audio design, screen recordings, and establishing and monitoring UX metrics.
  • Use AI tools to generate design variations and explore concepts, synthesize research findings and identify patterns, create documentation and specifications, and accelerate delivery without compromising quality or user-centered principles.
  • Partner with UX Research to plan and conduct studies that validate designs, build empathy with users, and contribute to user intelligence, including generative, descriptive, and validation studies; research planning, recruiting, moderating, synthesis, insight communication, and findings communication.
  • Facilitate collaborative design activities with diverse groups, including presenting research insights, design planning, ideation workshops, and design critique sessions, using AI-generated artifacts to accelerate communication.
  • Align with UX direction set by the lead, identify cross-product opportunities for consolidation and consistency, and actively use and contribute to the design system with component-based practices.
  • Maintain clear upstream and downstream communication, and use facilitation, storytelling, presenting, and AI tools to create documentation and specifications that keep stakeholders aligned.
  • Collaborate with the UX lead to improve UX practices, particularly effective AI integration, collaboration patterns, and quality at increased velocity.
  • Experiment with and refine AI-powered and traditional design methods to improve UX outcomes and design thinking.
  • Work with customers, users, software engineers, product and QA personnel, and other business teams to review requirements and proposed solutions and provide input, including on ideation, algorithms, processes, and feature design.
  • Conduct research, analyze product and user trends, derive insights, and create user journeys, interactions, and user interface designs for incorporation into Pushpay products or product-building processes.
