Strava takes on fitness apps with coach-led strength workouts and rep tracking.

Strava takes on fitness apps with coach-led strength workouts and rep tracking. Published: October 15, 2026 1 min Following its spring overhaul, the platform adds guided video animations, real-time set logging, and post-workout muscle activation graphics. Strava is launching native, coach-led strength workouts directly within its mobile app, offering guided exercise animations and live set-and-rep tracking that syncs straight to athletes' Workout Logs. Rolling out to subscribers over the coming weeks - with a sample workout unlocked for free users - the update aims to remove friction from gym-based strength training. Each guided routine features exercise animations designed by professional strength coaches, complete with form cues, technique tips, and targeted muscle highlights. During a workout, users can log completed reps and weights in real time, automatically populating an interactive muscle map on their finished activity post to visualize training load across specific muscle groups. Eliminating gym friction for endurance athletes. The update aims to tackle a major barrier for endurance athletes incorporating gym work: knowing how to structure resistance training. By providing built-in video guidance and structured routines, Strava is essentially taking on third-party fitness apps. If it takes hold with users, they won't need to jump between secondary workout apps to track gym sessions alongside their runs and rides. The update also adds new guided running workouts, expanding the platform's native library of structured coaching routines. Building on Strava's strength overhaul. The release builds on Strava's major strength update from earlier this year, which introduced a dedicated Workout Log interface, new shareable post formats, and integrations with 14 partner platforms. With strength training exceeding 500 million uploads on the platform in 2025, Strava is doubling down on resistance work as a core pillar alongside its traditional running and cycling tools. Looking ahead to the end of the year, Strava also confirmed plans to launch additional workout series, custom workout builders, and a photo OCR feature that lets users upload screenshots of text-based training plans or notes apps to auto-populate sets and reps.

hDrop app update fixes much of what made it painful.

hDrop app update fixes much of what made it painful. hDrop has released app version 0.51.0 and new sensor firmware, and the app is finally better to use. When I reviewed hDrop Gen 2 in July, the app was the main problem. The sensor itself was never the issue, and it still gives useful sweat and sodium loss figures for long, hot rides where getting fluid and electrolytes right decides how the last hour goes. What has changed in the app. * hDrop says the update fixes interface bugs, improves login and adds safeguards against losing activity data when saving and uploading sessions. * New firmware improves the connection between the sensor and the app during activities. * hDrop now connects to Strava. Your fluid and sodium loss appear in each Strava activity's description, and hDrop pulls back pace, effort and RPE so you type less into its journal. Strava does not show hDrop's time-series sweat data. Wahoo and Garmin. hDrop already shows live fluid and sodium loss on Wahoo ELEMNT ACE, BOLT 3 and ROAM 3, and records them to the ride file, as I covered when Wahoo added hDrop support in June. A bug stopped the figures appearing on some units. The fix is to uninstall the hDrop data field, reinstall it and update the bike computer's firmware. hDrop's Wahoo setup guide covers the pairing sequence. On Garmin, the hDrop Scores Connect IQ data field has been updated to work on newer watches, including recent Fenix models. The field worked cleanly on Forerunner 970 when I tested it outdoors. The data still needs calibrating. Out of the box, hDrop overestimated fluid loss in my tests, by 37% in a controlled HYROX session and 51% on a hot outdoor ride. A baseline calibration fixes most of that, and I explained why fluid loss runs high and what to do about it. hDrop says it is working on automating the baseline so that the correct sweat zones show on your watch or bike computer without the manual step. The optional hDrop Lab subscription adds deeper analysis and race planning. The sensor and the standard app work without it. Quick answers. Which hDrop app version fixes the usability problems? Version 0.51.0 of the hDrop app, released in October 2026, alongside new sensor firmware. Update both. Does hDrop work with Strava? Yes. Your hDrop fluid and sodium loss appear in the Strava activity description. Strava does not show the time-series sweat data. Why is hDrop not showing on my Wahoo? Uninstall and reinstall the hDrop data field, then update the ELEMNT firmware. Only ACE, BOLT 3 and ROAM 3 are supported. Do I need an hDrop subscription? No. hDrop Lab is an optional add-on. The sensor and standard app work without a subscription. INIU made power banks built for the great outdoors.

INIU made power banks built for the great outdoors. Oct 9, 2026 INIU has launched its Outdoor Rugged Series, featuring 10,000mAh and 20,000mAh power banks plus a 28W solar panel. The power banks offer IP67 protection, 1.2m drop resistance, 65W charging, built-in flashlights, carabiners, and a 5-year warranty, with the 10,000mAh model available now and the 20,000mAh version expected in November. INIU is back with new charging products, and these ones are made for the outdoors. The company presented its 'Rugged Series' of devices. As part of this launch, INIU also partnered with Strava and the American Hiking Society. INIU Outdoor is here, the company's new rugged-focused charging product line. The first members of the INIU Outdoor Rugged Series are the Rugged 10000 Power Bank, Rugged 20000 Power Bank, and Solar Panel 28W. The star of the show is the Rugged 10000 Power Bank, as that one will almost certainly be the most in-demand one. It's an ideal capacity for most people, and it has a great size-to-function ratio. INIU actually says that this is the "world's first professional-grade outdoor power lineup to combine IP67 protection, drop-tested durability, fast charging, a compact and lightweight design, a purpose-built solar ecosystem, built-in lighting, and broad compatibility with essential outdoor gear." You're getting an IP67 certification along with drop resistance. The company's new lineup is not only IP67 certified for water and dust resistance, but it is drop-tested for drops from 3.9 ft / 1.2m. In other words, we're looking at the MIL-STD-810G 516.6 certification. The INIU Outdoor Rugged 10000 Power Bank weighs 195.7 grams (6.9 oz), while the 20000 variant weighs 353.2 grams (12.5 oz). That's another reason why the 10000mAh model will be a more ideal option for many people, even though the 20000mAh variant is not exactly too bulky considering what it offers. The silicone-armored bodies protect these power banks from scratches and drops, while they're also grippier than you'd think. They're certainly a lot grippier than regular aluminum-clad power banks. 65W charging is on board, along with tech that ensures safe charging. These power banks can provide you with 65W wired charging for phones, cameras, drones, lightweight laptops, and more. They also have an Automatic Low-Current Mode that safely adjusts to charging smaller essentials such as earbuds. INIU Outdoor even placed a light in these power banks, so that they double as capable flashlights when the sun goes down. You never know when you might need one. There's also a steady red light option to preserve night vision, and a flashing red light to stay visible. A detachable carabiner is included in the package. These power banks also come with a detachable carabiner, a 1/4-20 standard tripod thread, sealed port cover, and easy-to-read battery indicators. INIU also made sure the INIU Outdoor brand line comes with an 18-layer SmartProtect system, that protects against overcharging, overcurrent, short circuits, overheating, and temperature-related risks. They also come with a whopping 5-year warranty from the company. They have a number of advantages over the competition. These power banks do offer a number of advantages over more regular power banks from competitors. Like the built-in light, which almost none of them have, or dual Type-C ports, and a weight under 200 grams. A table below will give you a good idea of what I'm talking about. As part of the Strava partnership, INIU Outdoor presented a 100-minute Outdoor Challenge. It encourages people to get outside and explore. It kicks off on October 12 and will last until November 11. Participants can complete a total of 100 minutes of outdoor activity on Strava to unlock exclusive INIU rewards and enter the Rugged Prize Pool Giveaway. The 10,000mAh variant is available starting today. The INIU Outdoor Rugged 10000 Power Bank is actually available starting today, while the 20000 variant will go on sale in early November. You can grab this power bank from Amazon, iniushop.com, or Target. Official images: Lifestyle images:

Strava responds to smartwatch sync failures: status page says otherwise.

Strava responds to smartwatch sync failures: status page says otherwise. Strava has responded on the record to the run of complaints about its app failing to sync with smartwatches. A company spokesperson told Android Authority that the problems are not connected to each other. The spokesperson added that integration differences between watch platforms mean occasional breakage is expected. The issues noted are isolated and disconnected from one another. While AndroidPure work with each of its device partners to make integration with Strava as smooth as possible, every ecosystem has a slightly different integration, so issues occasionally occur. - Strava spokesperson, via Android Authority Three ecosystems at once. Here is where the explanation sits awkwardly against the reports. The complaints are not confined to one watch brand. Users on Samsung Galaxy Watch, Garmin and Apple Watch devices have all described activities failing to reach Strava. Samsung phone deals Neither Strava nor Android Authority has confirmed a cause, so nobody outside the company can say whether these failures share one. What is clear is the difference between the company's framing and the reported scope. Describing failures that span three major watch platforms as isolated is a statement about scale, and it is not a diagnosis. The status page does not reflect it. Strava's public status page showed no active incident when AndroidPure checked on October 6. Its most recent resolved entries are both from late September. One was a Garmin upload delay on September 28, fixed the same day at 20:03 PDT. The other was a general upload degradation on September 27, fixed at 11:24 PDT. Neither has been confirmed as the same problem users are hitting now. So Strava is acknowledging issues to a reporter while its own dashboard tells every other user that everything is fine. For anyone whose workout did not upload, the status page is the first place they look. An all-clear there sends them hunting for a fault in their own watch or their own account. That is a real cost to the user, and opening an incident is entirely within Strava's control. Discover more Wireless Routers Read Company News Search Privately What you can Do right now. * Do not delete the activity yet. Leave the recording where it is until you have confirmed it reached Strava. * Check the source app first. If you record through Samsung Health, Garmin Connect or Apple Health, confirm the activity is there before blaming Strava. * Note the date and device. If you report the failure, say which watch platform you use, because the complaints currently span three of them. Strava has now said what it thinks is happening, and the statement arrived in Android Authority's update on October 6 at 03:28 AM ET. Until the status page reflects it, users hitting the problem are troubleshooting without any confirmation that it is not their fault. Get Android Phones
