Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Completion of an accredited phlebotomy program or medical assistant program that includes phlebotomy, or a minimum of six months of phlebotomy experience, is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • ASCP, AMT, or ASPT certification is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Obtain blood specimens by venipuncture and capillary methods, and urine specimens from patients of all age groups for a variety of laboratory tests and procedures used in disease diagnosis and treatment.
  • Provide specimen collection information and test preparation information to nursing staff, patients, and family members as appropriate.
  • Travel to different facilities using a company car.
Desired Qualifications
  • ASCP, AMT, or ASPT certification.
