Donorbox is first fundraising platform to accept AI agent donations via Stripe Directory

Donorbox, a fundraising platform for online and in-person giving, has become the first of its kind to integrate with Stripe Directory. The move lets AI agents help donors find campaigns and complete authorised donations. Donors can ask a compatible AI agent, such as Hermes, Instinct, Meta's Muse, or Grok Bot, to search for nonprofits that match their interests. They then review and authorise a gift through Stripe Link, or continue to a Donorbox campaign page to check out. "We are not just launching a new donation channel; we are fundamentally redefining how nonprofits meet the next generation of donors where they are: within the AI conversation," said Charles Zhang, chief executive officer and founder of Donorbox. Agentic giving is available to eligible Donorbox organisations with US Stripe accounts.

citybiz+ fewer Alexandria companies on Inc. 5000 list in 2026.

citybiz+ fewer Alexandria companies on Inc. 5000 list in 2026. August 12, 2026 Despite a drop in the number of Virginia firms on Inc.'s 2026 list, companies like Sparkplug IP and newcomer Donorbox highlight ongoing resilience and diversity in Alexandria's business community, with notable revenue growth over three years. Alexandria, Va., kept a steady presence on Inc.'s latest list of America's fastest-growing private companies, although this year's local showings were much lower in the rankings than in 2025. According to Inc.'s annual Inc. 5000 ranking, 12 companies with Alexandria addresses or operations in nearby Fairfax County made the 2026 list, including seven based in the city. That was down from 19 local firms a year earlier, when veteran-owned consulting firm Artemis ARC led Alexandria with a national ranking of No. 34 and 6,648% three-year revenue growth. Artemis ARC did not return to the new list. The highest-ranked Alexandria company this year was Sparkplug IP, a telecommunications firm that posted 449% growth over three years. Other returning names included Logistics Systems, MovementX, Bent Ear Solutions, BRG Communications, TEAL and Mayvin, underscoring the city's recurring presence in the annual growth survey. One of the more notable newcomers was Donorbox, a fundraising platform that moved its headquarters from San Francisco to Belle Haven. Inc. ranked the company No. 2,950 after it reported 105% revenue growth over three years. Founded in 2014 by Charles Zang, Donorbox powers $4 billion in donations for nonprofits in 96 countries around the world. Virginia's strongest performer this year was not in Alexandria. That distinction went to Advanced Armor Research Group, a Fredericksburg consulting firm that landed at No. 17 with 10,223% growth, according to Inc. The government contractor was founded in 2016 by Douglas Davis, who serves as the company's president and principal. For Alexandria, the latest results suggest a business community that remains active and diverse, even if fewer local firms broke into the upper tier of the national ranking this year. Inc. said the 2026 ranking is based on percentage revenue growth over a three-year period and requires companies to be privately held, for-profit, independent and based in the United States. The magazine said qualifying firms needed at least $100,000 in revenue in 2022 and $2 million in 2025. Across the country, Inc. said this year's 5,000 companies generated $385.1 billion in revenue and included 759 newly founded businesses. In a statement released with the list, Inc. Editor-in-Chief Mike Hofman said each company on the ranking reflects "perseverance, smart decision making, and a refusal to sit still," adding that the growth represents creativity, resilience and customer focus. The companies with registered offices in Alexandria figured on the Inc. 5000 list, along with their rankings: Sparkplug IP, 449% (Telecommunications), #772 Urban Legend, 343% (Advertising, Marketing & PR), #1,023 MovementX, 166% (Healthcare & Medical), #2,046 Event Strategies (ESI), 136% (Advertising, Marketing & PR), #2,439 Donorbox, 105% (Software), #2,950 BRG Communications, 56% (Advertising, Marketing & PR), #4,122 TEAL, 47% (IT Services), #4,352 Mayvin, 43% (Government Services), #4,436 [Noah Wire Services helped in the writing of this article.]
