About the job
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must have a high school diploma/GED and/or relevant experience.
- Must be CPR and First Aid certified, or willing to obtain certification.
- Must have Food Safety Certification, or be willing to obtain it within three months.
- Must be computer proficient.
- Must be knowledgeable about child development or willing to learn.
- Assist with food preparation and cleanup.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
- Support health and nutrition activities that encourage children to make healthier choices.
- Substitute for the Head Start Teacher when needed.
- Perform light janitorial duties when necessary.
- Support program recruitment and enrollment efforts.
- Help ensure a safe environment for everyone.
- Work alongside the Head Start Teacher to support young children's learning, curiosity, and independence, and support parents in advocating for their children.
