Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience is required.
  • At least 10 years of experience in commercial aviation in customer services, airline maintenance engineering, digital solutions, data analytics, and/or aircraft systems and avionics.
  • Knowledge of aeronautical engineering and avionics, or the ability to quickly develop a detailed understanding of digital products related to aircraft operations, health monitoring, predictive maintenance, and reliability.
  • Knowledge of information technology or data analytics, or a strong interest in these fields, and familiarity with Skywise.
  • Program management skills and the ability to coordinate internal teams to meet contractual commitments, customer satisfaction, cost and revenue targets, and event-management needs; ability to build and own project plans and maintain project consistency.
  • Experience building trustworthy customer relationships and managing customer expectations.
  • Communication and assertiveness for technical-commercial discussions with airline executives and teams, including CEOs, VPs, Heads of Maintenance, fleet management, operations, reliability, and airline IT.
Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of airline customers and represent the customer within Skywise.
  • Act as the customer's project manager for execution and deployment of digital services.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor during run-mode by supporting requests and escalations and monitoring overall customer health.
  • Build and execute customer-facing projects, including deployments, upgrades, and change requests, using internal project-management tools and methodologies.
  • Conduct customer workshops and immersion sessions.
  • Develop customer engagement plans based on product priorities and consultative-selling outputs.
  • Develop customer change-management plans for the most complex solutions.
  • Assist the Deal Manager with technical feasibility, scope validation, and deliverability.
  • Evaluate contract costs, including confirming that the customer's fleet has the required enablers and that data transmission, capture, routing, transport, and processing elements are correct.
  • Act as a focal point for cash management and drive acceptance for revenue recognition.
  • Ensure service-level agreements and other contract KPIs are met.
  • Identify, anticipate, and mitigate risks and issues that could affect contract execution of digital solutions, and perform customer heat-map monitoring.
  • Own service operations by measuring performance and responding to customer issues.

Airbus A350F freighter completes maiden flight with 4.3m cargo door for servers

Airbus has successfully completed the first flight of its A350F freighter, bringing the aerospace giant closer to delivering a high-capacity cargo aircraft. The plane took off from Airbus headquarters in Toulouse, France, flying for four hours and ten minutes and reaching 25,000 feet. The A350F can carry a payload of 109 tonnes, compared to 64 tonnes for the existing A330F. It features a 4.3-metre cargo door large enough to accommodate turbofan engines and high-density computer servers. Airbus claims the A350F is more efficient than Boeing's rival 777F, despite having slightly less capacity. The company has already received orders for 115 A350Fs. A second test aircraft is nearly complete as Airbus begins the certification process requiring hundreds of test flights.

Airbus and Qantas back $30M funding for Australian SAF developer Jet Zero

Jet Zero Australia has raised $30 million to advance Project Ulysses, a commercial-scale sustainable aviation fuel and renewable diesel refinery in Townsville. The funding round was backed by institutional investors including Qantas and Airbus, both returning investors from 2023. South Korean company Posco International joined as a new strategic investor, with the parties exploring opportunities in fuel offtake, infrastructure and feedstock. The capital will fund completion of Front-End Engineering Design and support the project's progress towards Final Investment Decision and construction. Founded in 2021 by Ed Mason, Jet Zero develops biofuels production capacity in regional Australia. The project has received its final Development Permit Decision Notice from Queensland's Office of the Coordinator-General. It is expected to create approximately 1,000 construction jobs and 100 permanent operational roles.

Airbus shelves stricter office return plan after Spanish union strikes

Airbus has postponed its plan to reduce remote working after strikes by Spanish unions, Reuters reports. The aerospace manufacturer will allow employees to continue working from home an average of two days per week, shelving indefinitely a push to limit remote work to one day. Chief Executive Guillaume Faury had sought to require white-collar staff on-site four days weekly by September, citing the need for knowledge transfer. Spanish unions said roughly 40% of Airbus's 14,000 Spanish employees have walked out over remote work policies, transport, leave and wages. An Airbus spokesperson said the company would implement the transition "more gradually" based on employee feedback. French unions estimate a quarter to a third of Airbus's workforce has been hired in the past three years. Aircraft production has not been affected by the disruptions.
