Requirements
- An undergraduate college degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information systems management, information technology, or another discipline related to the project, or equivalent experience.
- At least 8 years of progressively responsible information technology experience, including at least 5 years performing data modeling, data architecture, and database administration duties.
- Experience with data masking and data encryption of personal and financial information in compliance with Internal Revenue Service Publication 1075 and its encryption requirements.
- Experience designing and implementing data architecture solutions.
- Experience with database management and administration systems such as MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
- In-depth knowledge of data modeling and data warehousing concepts.
- Experience developing and implementing Extract, Transform, and Load processes to gather and load data from external sources.
- Experience with data integration tools and technologies.
- Hands-on experience with data manipulation and query optimization.
- Experience creating system design documents and documentation related to data architecture, data modeling, and data warehousing.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop robust, scalable data architecture supporting data transfers, storage, transformation, and reporting requirements.
- Work with business analysts, subject matter experts, system owners, customers, and end-users to understand mission needs, current architecture, security requirements, and deliverables.
- Create and maintain data models that facilitate efficient data transfer and storage while ensuring data quality and integrity.
- Manage and optimize database systems through monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting to ensure high availability and performance.
- Collaborate with external agencies to establish data transfer processes, application programming interfaces, and integration points that enable secure and efficient data flow.
- Implement data security measures, access controls, and encryption to protect sensitive information during data transfers and storage.
- Continuously monitor and optimize data pipelines and databases to improve efficiency and reduce latency.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of data architecture, integration processes, and database configurations.
- Ensure data compliance with applicable industry standards and regulations, including NIST, FIPS, and HIPAA.
