Requirements
  • A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of three years of experience serving disadvantaged students is required.
  • Three years of experience planning, organizing, and coordinating academic support in higher education settings is required.
  • The candidate must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication.
  • The candidate must demonstrate interpersonal, organizational, supervisory, and project management skills.

  • The candidate must be available for extended hours in the summer and some nights and weekends.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the daily activities and resources for two TRIO Student Support Services grants serving 280 students annually.
  • Serve as the grants’ project director and directly supervise five full-time staff supporting the program.
  • Provide leadership and oversee the day-to-day operations of the programs and department.
  • Manage the service delivery model and coordinate the planning, scheduling, and facilitation of services, activities, and workshops.
  • Represent TRIO on campus and in the community.
  • Address the needs of students, parents, faculty, and staff proactively.
  • Provide training, plan and assign work, maintain standards, coordinate activities, address personnel issues, and conduct employee evaluations.
  • Coordinate staff training and supervision, facilitate staff meetings, and participate in recruiting and selecting new employees.
  • Recommend and approve employee discipline, transfers, and discharges as appropriate, and review and approve or deny leave requests.
  • Determine staff professional development needs, develop an annual activity calendar, and secure professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure program compliance with grant, campus, University System of New Hampshire, and federal regulations.
  • Supervise recruitment and selection of new grant students and certify participant eligibility under federal TRIO guidelines.
  • Oversee federally mandated record keeping, including documentation of student eligibility, participation, and progress toward program objectives.
  • Ensure the maintenance and security of central student and program files.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate program policies and procedures.
  • Collect and review Monthly Counselor Reports and Time and Effort verification.
  • Develop formative and summative assessments with the TRIO Director and adjust services and interventions based on findings.
  • Oversee program reports, including two Annual Performance Reports to the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Work with information technology, financial aid, and institutional research to prepare student and aggregate data for reporting.
  • Prepare the Keene State College Annual Report with the TRIO Director.
  • Provide program information and data for University System of New Hampshire, state, and federal audits.
  • Assist with grant writing and proposal development.
  • Track budget expenditures with the TRIO Director.
  • Maintain technology systems including Excel, Access, and student information system databases.
  • Coordinate the Links Summer Bridge Program, including recruitment materials, applicant screening, selection, enrollment, orientation, and student and staff support.
  • Develop and maintain technological infrastructure for student and staff applications and team resources.
  • Collaborate with admissions, Office of Disability Services, faculty, student accounts, events, residential life, campus safety, and Title IX offices to deliver and support program activities.
  • Coordinate course registration, residential placement, dining plans, participant billing, and payment tracking for Links students.
  • Coordinate recruitment, orientation, training, and supervision of Links faculty and student workers.
  • Provide academic support, educational counseling, conflict management, crisis intervention, and case management to students.
  • Facilitate learning and social integration components and promote student community.
  • Oversee College 102 and co-teach the course on rotation.
  • Facilitate Aspire credit and non-credit programming, including College 101, College 102, College 103, study nights, success lunches, and mentoring initiatives.
  • Provide training in textbook reading, exam preparation, reading comprehension, memory strategies, time management, organization, note-taking, and stress management.
  • Support student retention through case management and fall-semester interventions.
  • Consult and collaborate with campus academic support units.
  • Maintain the Keene State College web presence, news media, publications, annual communication plan, and social media.
  • Manage individual student needs assessments and develop academic plans.
  • Oversee staff implementation of advising and services including course selection, financial literacy, financial aid, study skills, time management, career and graduate school exploration, workshops, self-advocacy, and personal counseling.
  • Serve a caseload of students by providing academic counseling, advising, and individualized course selection.
  • Manage the Aspire Tutor Program and ensure tutoring interventions are effective and responsive to student needs.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a participant or staff member in a TRIO program is preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience with educational programs is desirable.
  • The ability to speak a second language or bring a multicultural perspective to the campus is desirable.
