Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree with equivalent experience.
  • At least 4-6 years of relevant experience within corporate and/or higher education environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with and appreciation of career development principles and practices.
  • Comfort and experience navigating technologies, including web platforms such as WebEx, Zoom, and Teams, executing webinar content and delivery, and using social media.
  • Ability to track, measure, and deliver value-added program results.
  • Ability to work across internal and external programs, departments, and constituencies while handling multiple tasks.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation, marketing, and counseling skills.
  • A customer service orientation and a proactive, self-motivated, and entrepreneurial approach.
  • Ability to propose new methods for performing tasks and support initiatives, objectives, and solutions to achieve results.
  • Ability to anticipate and embrace change, acquire and use new skills, and remain flexible in changing conditions.
  • Strong technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Availability for occasional evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group student advising on career development and job and internship search strategies, including helping students develop and refine job-search strategies and marketing plans for internships and full-time employment.
  • Guide, assist, and hold students accountable for achieving established career goals.
  • Serve as industry lead and liaison for career exploration and assessments, using office resources, online tools, social media, and webinars to build student interest communities.
  • Prepare students for internship and job searches by critiquing resumes, providing LinkedIn guidance, and conducting mock interviews.
  • Develop educational programs and tools for domestic and international career searches.
  • Design and deliver workshops, experiences, and programs focused on relevant career topics, including industry- and function-specific issues.
  • Work with student clubs to improve their effectiveness in educating students about career paths and co-develop programs as needed.
  • Engage with faculty and communities of interest related to assigned focus areas.
  • Partner with recruiters, alumni, and other industry representatives to provide students with career advice and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the recruiting team to monitor industry and employer trends, employer and student satisfaction, and opportunities affecting undergraduate hiring.
  • Research key industry trends and opportunities and share findings across relevant constituencies.
  • Represent Babson College at external functions related to student needs, alumni, business, and professional development.
  • Represent the Center for Career Development on committees and serve as liaison to specific departments.
  • Share Babson best practices through presentations, publishing, and event attendance.
  • Contribute to marketing the Center for Career Development, increasing office visibility, and informing the College community about career initiatives.
  • Author and edit department publications and electronic correspondence for internal audiences.
  • Manage and execute special projects and programs assigned by the Director.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as required.
