Requirements
  • A Master’s Degree in Nursing is required.
  • Graduation from an accredited program for neonatal nurse practitioners is required.
  • Neonatal Nurse Practitioner certification is required.
  • Experience working in a level 3 neonatal intensive care unit and attending high-risk deliveries is required.
  • Training and experience must be commensurate with the expectations of the Chair of the Department of Pediatrics.
  • A state nurse practitioner license is required.
  • The nurse practitioner must maintain a current Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner Pennsylvania state license certified by applicable certifying bodies.
  • Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program is required.
  • Clinical privileges granted by the AEMC Board of Trustees are required for employment.
  • An unrestricted license to practice in Pennsylvania is required.
  • The position requires the ability to provide patient care to neonatal and infant age populations in a manner that demonstrates understanding of the functional and developmental age of each individual served.
  • The position requires walking and standing.
  • The position requires the ability to read medical charts and doctors’ orders.
  • The position requires the ability to hear normal conversations.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in implementing the health care plan and managing neonatal patients by performing diagnostic and therapeutic tasks as defined by neonatologists.
  • Provide clinical care to neonatal and infant patients.
  • Perform routine activities involved in patient clinical care.
