Team Leader Distribution Operations
About the job
- Ability to operate lift equipment up to 40 feet, as assigned.
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within distribution processes.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English, and ability to match numbers and letters.
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), a WMS, and email.
- Ability to use an RF scanner or WMS workstation.
- Ability to operate lift equipment, as assigned.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds regularly, push or pull up to 75 pounds, and stand or walk on concrete for more than eight hours per day with regular bending, reaching, and crouching.
- Ability to climb ladders up to 12 feet and use stairs and work at heights up to 20 feet on the mezzanine, where applicable.
- High school diploma or equivalent and more than two years of experience in a warehouse environment or related area are stated as required/preferred qualifications.
- A demonstrated record of workplace stability and dependability.
- Perform the full range of department duties and work in the function to meet deadlines.
- Conduct team-based process-improvement activities using problem-solving tools and methodology, and present results to peers, groups, and leadership as needed.
- Monitor and audit distribution processes and standard-work metrics.
- Notify associates of audit results and address ergonomic or safety concerns.
- Respond to team barriers and operational bottlenecks; document failures and corrective actions.
- Conduct team instruction sessions, discussions, and updates, including production boards and work instructions; provide specialty job-skills training and instruction.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures, and notify the supervisor and human resources department of safety, employee-relations, and discipline issues.
- Pick, pack, and ship customer orders and troubleshoot problems to resolution.
- Receive and process returns and exchanges.
- Organize shipments to third-party distributors.
- Sort, count, package, label, unpack, and log shipped or received inventory.
- Inspect shipments for damage or defects, record discrepancies or damages, and notify the supervisor.
- Reorganize warehouse shelf inventory for seasonality.
- Unpack products and replenish warehouse shelves.
- Identify returned defective units with the appropriate defective-reason code.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
