What You'll Do:

Primary Responsibilities Include:

Contribute to the full lifecycle design of security-focused products, from concept through production.
Analyze cross-functional tradeoffs between design alternatives, including impact on performance, schedule, cost, risk, complexity, and scale, and raise them to senior engineers or leads.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including mechanical, firmware, industrial design, sourcing, and product management.
Support the product development process from early-stage concept, through prototyping, testing, and production, helping ensure products meet requirements, cost, and schedule targets.
Develop and execute prototype testing, including designing test strategies to validate product performance and help resolve issues.
Participate in design reviews and discussions with suppliers and global manufacturing partners to help optimize designs for mass production.
Flag resource or knowledge gaps to leads and engage the right subject-matter experts when needed.
Support communication and design execution with global manufacturing partners.
Contribute to the Technical Requirements Document in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Support product architecture and system-level design work, ensuring alignment with product requirements, performance goals, and cross-functional constraints.
Translate system requirements into detailed, actionable tasks and deliverables for your own scope of work.
Support risk identification and mitigation activities within your area of the program.
Stay current with emerging technologies, sensors, and manufacturing processes to inform product design.
Drive your own workstreams forward with a reasonable sense of urgency.

What You'll Bring:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
2+ years of relevant industry experience, ideally including some exposure to consumer products.
Familiarity with optimizing designs for battery operation with low power usage.
Experience contributing to the design and development of complex systems, from concept toward mass production.
Exposure to design validation planning, including test coverage across electrical, RF, connectivity, audio, or imaging subsystems.
Ability to work effectively both as a systems-level contributor and as a hands-on technical contributor.
Experience in embedded systems design, including design with UART, SPI, I2C, USB, Ethernet, SDIO, MIPI, etc.
Familiarity with RF technologies including Sub-GHz, WiFi, and BLE.
Strong preference for candidates with a demonstrated bias for action.
Travel: Willing to travel to our manufacturing partners in China 1-3 times per year

The target annual base pay range for this role is $84,900 to $113,200.

This target annual base pay range represents our good-faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this role. We use a market-based compensation approach to set our target annual base pay ranges and make adjustments annually. Eufy used the IFA show in Berlin to refresh most of its security line, with a bias toward local recording and no monthly fees. Engadget reported the launches on September 3, 2026. What is new. * NVR Security System E50. A wired system that pairs 2K bullet cameras with a 4K pan-tilt-zoom dual-lens camera, using Eufy's OmniTrack AI to hand a moving subject from one camera to the next. Anker also showed a new Omni E35 robot vacuum and a robot lawnmower, neither of which is a security product. Why it matters. Eufy's pitch has always been local storage with no recurring fee, against Ring and Nest, whose best features sit behind $10 to $20 a month subscriptions. The E50 pushes that into the wired, multi-camera territory that used to belong to Reolink and Lorex, and the doorbell's resolution is the highest Screened has seen on a consumer unit. The trade-off is Eufy's own record: it was caught in 2022 uploading thumbnails to the cloud despite "local only" marketing, and it has spent the years since rebuilding trust with end-to-end encryption and third-party audits. What to weigh before buying. A $999 wired kit is a different purchase from a $70 window camera. If you want no subscription and do not mind running cable, the E50 is now the strongest option at its price. If you want the simplest install, a battery Eufy or a Wyze camera with local storage costs a fraction of that. And whichever you choose, check how the brand handles your footage, because the privacy policy matters more than the megapixels. How Tovala banks on subscriptions and incrementality - But not ads - to profit from its oven. Thursday, June 25th, 2026 - 3:51 pm Smart TVs, refrigerators and other home appliances may pester you with marketing and perhaps even check your presence in the room using a front-facing camera. But at least the hardware is cheap! That's the promise. Some companies, like the TV manufacturing startup Telly, take it to the logical extreme by offering free televisions in exchange for agreeing to data collection and advertising. Although Telly remains in a years-long pre-order phase. Another startup taking a different approach to the same theory is Tovala, which was founded in 2015 and combines a standalone countertop oven appliance with a weekly meal kit subscription. When asked whether the company plans to enable any retail or brand marketing opportunities, CMO Scott Braun said, "We haven't done anything there from the revenue-generating side, and I'm not sure we will." Likelier, he added, the company would pursue relevant food or condiment-type brand integrations to include their products in meal kits. "The team is toying with a couple partnerships" along those lines. Braun joined Tovala only a month ago, following stints as the marketing leader at the alcohol delivery app Drizly (acquired by Uber) and, most recently, at SimpliSafe. The SimpliSafe business model is particularly apt for the current role, he said, since it makes home security hardware, which likewise was sold at cost or even a loss but made up for in long-term customer acquisition revenue via subscriptions. The Tovala oven would retail as a standalone product for more than $300, Braun said. As of this writing, it sells on Amazon for $350. That's because it is a functional countertop toaster oven. One doesn't need the meal kit subscriptions for it to work. On the Tovala site, though, with the meal kit deliveries bundled in (starting with six weeks' worth of meals over the first six months), the oven goes for $69. Tovala's ability to target and acquire the right customers - those who are going to reliably order meal kits for potentially years to come - is the company's lifeblood. For that reason, he said, the startup is a rigorous tester of marketing channels, with incrementality studies running constantly on old channels like branded search and new formats like podcast ads. The company also allows customers to scan items from a grocery store and use the SKU info to set up a preset cook. Like for a particular type of frozen pizza or if someone recreates a Tovala meal recipe they received with grocery store equivalents (since the oven can steam, broil and bake in particular sequences). Right now, that's just a customer experience benefit. But the advertising and attribution temptation is right there, hanging like an apple in the Garden of Eden. Braun said they were not pursuing these right now. But there are marketing integrations the company will pursue, he said. For instance, there are theoretical partnerships just from the fact of Tovala having a subscription revenue stream. Meal delivery services like Instacart or Uber Eats, home office or education services (to include easy and quick lunches), retail memberships, wellness services and other types of subscription-based businesses could be bundled in interesting ways. "Lots of different partnerships could make more or less sense for us to sync up with," Braun said. "It wouldn't be hard to think of some great fits." Tagged in:
