About the company

Hourly provides a cloud-based platform for payroll, time and attendance tracking, and workers’ compensation insurance for small and medium-sized businesses with hourly employees. It syncs GPS-based time tracking with payroll so workers’ comp premiums are calculated in real time from actual payroll data, avoiding year-end estimates. The mobile-first platform offers automated payroll tax filings, same-day direct deposit, and a subscription model with per-employee pricing. It differentiates itself with pay-as-you-go workers’ comp and a focus on industries with variable-hour workloads, helping SMBs manage costs and administration as they scale across the United States, including a merger with WeSure US.

What believers are saying

  • WeSure closed Hourly’s acquisition in September 2025 and added $10 million.
  • Calcalist reported Hourly’s 2024 revenue reached $3.5 million, showing commercialization.
  • Hourly’s August 2026 pricing pages show active sales, not a dead product.

What critics are saying

  • Hourly became WeSure US’s wholly owned subsidiary in 2025, crushing strategic independence.
  • The $53 million valuation implies weak standalone scale for a fintech insurer.
  • If WeSure shifts capital to core insurance, Hourly’s payroll product gets starved and shelved.

What makes Hourly unique

  • Hourly’s pay-as-you-go workers’ comp uses real payroll data, avoiding year-end audits.
  • Nationwide partnered with Hourly in July 2023, validating its insurance distribution.
  • Hourly still serves hourly-worker SMBs in construction, where Tom Sagi built firsthand pain.
