National Safety Council launches training platform. * by Louise Esola The National Safety Council on Monday launched SafetyAtlas, an online platform that combines safety training, credentials and resources from the council, participating chapters and eight nonprofit and industry partners. The platform allows employers to purchase and assign training from multiple providers, track completion and maintain credential records, the council said in a statement. Integrated learning management and reporting capabilities are available at no additional platform cost. Features include learning pathways for higher-risk industries, location-based course searches and a "Safety Wallet" for storing and sharing credentials and training history. Launch partners include the American Industrial Hygiene Association, Board of Certified Safety Professionals and Association of Equipment Manufacturers. The council plans to add partners, artificial intelligence-enabled learning features and other resources over the coming year. September 14, 2026
The National Safety Council has launched NSC SafetyAtlas, an online platform integrating safety training, credentials, resources and services from NSC, participating chapters and partners. The platform addresses the current fragmented landscape where organisations navigate multiple providers and systems for safety training. SafetyAtlas combines a curated marketplace and learning management system, enabling employers and safety professionals to browse and purchase training, assign learning, track progress and maintain credential records. The platform includes industry-aligned learning pathways, geo-located course search and a Safety Wallet for storing credentials. Eight charter partners joined at launch, including the Association of Equipment Manufacturers, American Industrial Hygiene Association, and Walgreens. Three NSC chapters are participating initially. The platform will expand over the coming year with additional partners, AI-enabled learning journeys and further resources.
Industry safety organizations recognize Georgia-Pacific for excellence and Innovation. Friday, September 11th, 2026 Georgia-Pacific is committed to ensuring team members go home after their shift the same way they arrived at work. Many safety solutions implemented at our facilities are the result of collaboration among employees using their knowledge and skillset, along with innovative technology, to make our operations safer. One such tool, Omni Pro, uses AI camera technology to help protect vulnerable users in manufacturing settings from accidents with industrial trucks. This safety solution recently earned Georgia-Pacific recognition from the National Safety Council (NSC) during its 2026 NSC Safety Summit awards ceremony. Each year, the NSC honors two companies with its Networks Catalyst in Safety Award for developing and implementing innovative approaches to long-standing safety challenges. At our corrugated facility in Denton, Texas, Georgia-Pacific team members also worked to better identify hazards and protect pedestrians. One significant risk identified at the site was a mobile equipment and pedestrian (MOPED) interaction in the parking lot entrance where employees and visitors cross active shipping lanes to enter the site. Team members installed an automated pedestrian crossing system with gates, crossing arms and signal lights. The system keeps pedestrian pathways open by default and automatically restricts access when trucks enter the area, allowing safer controlled movement for both pedestrians and vehicles. This safety initiative earned the company recognition from the Fibre Box Association for a second year in a row with the Innovation in Safety Achievement Award. Georgia-Pacific empowers employees at every level within our organization to identify areas where risks exist and contribute to solutions that better address those hazards. Recognition by organizations such as the Fibre Box Association and the National Safety Council is a testament to the contributions and impact our teams have on our organization's safety initiatives and commitment to helping share ways others can improve safety throughout our industry.
Voxel to speak at NSC Safety Congress & Expo on turning AI insights into measurable Risk Reduction. Business Wire Company will demonstrate how AI-powered risk intelligence makes prevention quantifiable by measuring risk reduction and risk avoidance before injuries become outcomes. SAN FRANCISCO, August 04, 2026-(BUSINESS WIRE)-Voxel, the computer vision AI company revolutionizing workplace safety and risk, today announced it will speak at the National Safety Council's NSC Safety Congress & Expo, taking place September 11-17, 2026 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. Voxel will exhibit at Booth #1478 throughout the event and lead a session on quantifying the impact of AI-driven safety programs for every level of an organization. Every year, millions of workers are injured on the job, many in incidents that are preventable. Voxel was built to change that math. By turning the cameras already installed in warehouses, retail spaces, and manufacturing facilities into a proactive safety system, Voxel helps organizations spot hazards before they become injuries, giving safety leaders the chance to intervene while there's still time to protect a life. NSC Safety Congress & Expo, the country's longest-running gathering of safety professionals, brings that same mission to life, connecting the people and technology working every day to make sure workers get home safe. Session Details * Title: Beyond the Software: Quantifying Risk Reduction to Organizational Stakeholders, Session #119 * Date and Time: Wednesday, September 16, 2026 | 10:00-11:00 AM ET * Speakers: Chris Skipper, Head of Customer Solutions, and Brittany DeRafelo, Director of Solutions Consulting, Voxel * Description: AI has moved past the hype cycle for most safety organizations. The harder question now is how to prove it's working. In their session, Skipper and DeRafelo help you understand how AI is being used to prioritize, manage, and ultimately minimize risk. We will share how diverse leadership groups are using data to speak a common language of safety. You will see firsthand how AI can move an organization from reactive "injury tracking" to proactive "risk forecasting," identifying the leading indicators that predict serious incidents before they occur. "Safety leaders don't just need better data anymore, they need a way to make that data mean something to the people who weren't in the room when the leading behaviors were building toward risk," said Chris Skipper, Head of Customer Solutions at Voxel. "This session is about closing that gap: showing safety and operations leaders how to take what the software sees and turn it into a story that gets buy-in, budget, and, most importantly, action."
