About the company

Color Street uses a direct-to-consumer network of independent stylists to sell beauty products. Its main offering is nail polish strips made from real nail polish in a dry-strip form that are easy to apply and long-lasting, with additional items like cuticle oil, hand lotion, and remover. Stylists sell to customers and earn commissions from sales and from recruiting others, while customers apply the strips by pressing them on, trimming, and sealing with a top coat for durability. The company distinguishes itself with the dry-strip format and a person-to-person sales model that supports a personalized shopping experience and the opportunity for individuals to start their own business, aiming to broaden access to a convenient manicure alternative and to grow its stylist network.

What believers are saying

  • March 30, 2026 Marilyn Monroe collection and June 1 gold strips create fresh demand.
  • August 2025 Attract FX magnetic strips broaden the catalog beyond basic nail strips.
  • 2025 compensation-plan changes reward retail sales more heavily, supporting stickier, higher-quality sellers.

What critics are saying

  • Former stylists Tracy Rodgers and Robert McCauley fought Color Street in New Jersey court, 2022-2023.
  • Headcount fell from 1,965 in 2023 to 1,625 in March 2026, signaling contraction.
  • If stylist recruitment weakens further, the MLM flywheel collapses and Amazon commoditizes the brand.

What makes Color Street unique

  • Color Street owns patented real-nail-polish strips, a harder-to-copy format than liquid polish.
  • The 2026 Marilyn Monroe and 23K gold launches signal premium licensing power.
  • Amazon plus Independent Stylists gives Color Street an unusual omnichannel direct-selling footprint.
