  • A bachelor's degree in chemistry, microbiology, food science, or a related scientific discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • At least five years of laboratory quality experience, including managing and coordinating a quality management system, audits, and accreditation activities.
  • Hands-on experience in an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited testing laboratory, including accreditation body assessments, document control, internal audits, corrective and preventive action, proficiency testing, competency records, and management review.
  • Working knowledge of method validation and verification, measurement uncertainty, metrological traceability, laboratory quality control, and data integrity principles across chemistry and microbiology.
  • Strong organization, written communication, investigation, and cross-functional leadership skills, with the judgment to hold a quality position under commercial pressure.
Responsibilities
  • Own the quality management system and quality manual; maintain the annual quality calendar and track corrective and preventive actions, audit findings, and other quality actions through completion.
  • Serve as the primary contact with the accreditation body; prepare for surveillance and reassessment visits, coordinate scope extensions, respond to findings with root cause and evidence, and track findings through timely closure.
  • Control use of the accreditation symbol and claims of accreditation on reports, quotations, the website, and marketing materials, ensuring accredited and non-accredited results are clearly distinguished.
  • Maintain document control for the quality manual, standard operating procedures, forms, and controlled external documents, and control quality and technical records, including retention, protection, and retrieval.
  • Maintain the multi-year internal audit schedule, complete an annual internal audit risk assessment, conduct scheduled internal audits, and arrange independent audits of the quality assurance function.
  • Maintain risk and customer complaint registers and drive improvement actions; prepare quarterly management reviews, record decisions, and follow actions to completion.
  • Lead the process for deviations, out-of-specification results, nonconforming work, and corrective and preventive action, including documented containment, impact assessments on previously issued results, customer notifications and report recalls when required, root-cause investigations, and effectiveness checks before closure.
  • Own the complaints process by acknowledging and impartially investigating complaints, responding to complainants, and trending complaints for systemic causes; technical leaders remain responsible for scientific conclusions.
  • Work with the Lab Manager to maintain competence requirements, training, supervision, and written authorizations for each method, data review, and report release, ensuring work is performed and authorized only within documented competence.
  • Oversee the calibration, verification, and maintenance program, metrological traceability of measurement results, and control of reference standards, certified reference materials, and reagents; laboratory owners perform the work and provide evidence.
  • Verify that facilities and environmental conditions are monitored and recorded where they affect results.
  • Approve and monitor suppliers and subcontracted laboratories against documented criteria, including accreditation status and scope, and ensure customers are informed of subcontracted work.
  • Maintain a proficiency testing and interlaboratory comparison plan covering the accredited scope at the frequency required by the accreditation body; order samples for existing and expanded methods, review results, and investigate unsatisfactory performance.
  • Maintain internal quality control requirements, including blanks, spikes, duplicates, check standards, and control charts, and review trends to detect drift before it affects reported results.
  • Set quality requirements for method development, validation, and verification; approve completeness of quality packages and control release to routine customer testing.
  • Require intended use, matrices, analytes, method source, customer requirements, reporting limits, and accreditation status to be defined before method development begins.
  • Require approved validation or verification plans with predefined acceptance criteria; review evidence for selectivity, accuracy or recovery, precision, calibration, limits of detection and quantitation, matrix effects, carryover, and robustness as relevant to standard, modified, and laboratory-developed methods.
  • Maintain a method readiness checklist and formal release record covering standard operating procedures, quality control criteria, equipment, competency, capacity, permitted accreditation claims, and post-launch monitoring; route material changes through change control.
  • Ensure technical records allow each result to be traced and repeated, and ensure data-integrity controls, including access, audit trails, and review of changes, are effective in instruments and the laboratory information management system.
  • Own the report release procedure and signatory authorization matrix; ensure reports contain required information, amended reports are clearly identified, and trained backup signatories prevent dependence on one person.
  • Maintain risk-based data-review procedures and reviewer qualifications; perform selected review or qualified backup within documented authorization while routine review remains with designated technical reviewers.
  • Prepare, review, and issue nutrition facts labels using Panelgea, ensuring label values are traceable to approved test results.
  • Develop working proficiency in the certificate of analysis reporting workflow and support certificate of analysis review and release as needed.
  • Train and qualify backup personnel for label issuance so the workflow does not depend on one or two people.
  • Oversee and maintain environmental health and safety policies, procedures, and training, keeping them current with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as the point of contact for building and facility-related matters.
  • Coordinate safety inspections, incident documentation, corrective actions, and safety training with Operations and designated environmental health and safety support.
  • Maintain the sanitation schedule and verification records; supervisors assign and oversee cleaning, while quality assurance audits adherence and escalates gaps.
  • Escalate quality, impartiality, data integrity, and accreditation risks directly to the CEO, and escalate affected work or reports when requirements are not met.
Desired Qualifications
  • ISO/IEC 17025 internal auditor or lead assessor training; ASQ certification (CQA, CMQ/OE) or equivalent.
  • Experience with a laboratory information management system (QBench preferred) and digital quality workflows; experience with scope expansion for new techniques such as inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry or liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry.

WISEcode(R) sets out to transform the food industry, ushering in the era of FoodTruth(TM).

WISEcode(R) sets out to transform the food industry, ushering in the era of FoodTruth(TM). PR Newswire At The Summer Fancy Food Show, WISEcode Makes Its Case That AI And A New Foundation Of Food Data Are Shifting The Basis Of Competition, From Marketing Budgets To Food Quality, And Invites The Industry To Join A "Race To The Top" NEW YORK, June 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ - WISEcode, the first Foodtech AI company, today brought its FoodTruth(TM) platform to the 2026 Summer Fancy Food Show, June 28-30 at the Javits Center in New York City, with a message for the specialty-food industry: the rules of the business are about to be rewritten. WISEcode's thesis is that the food industry stands at a generational inflection point. For decades brands competed on perception, marketing, packaging and shelf placement, because consumers could not see what was actually in their food. Artificial Intelligence, paired with food data, deeply removes that barrier. When every shopper can know what is in a product and what it does to their body, competition shifts from perception to performance, and the advantage moves to the companies with the best products rather than the biggest budgets. "AI is one of those rare technologies that doesn't just improve an industry, it rewrites the rules," said Founder and CEO Peter Castleman in the company's main-stage keynote. "The automobile, the microprocessor, the smartphone, they all arrived quietly, the establishment dismissed them, and then one morning the ground had already moved. That's where the food industry is today. For decades the industry competed on perception. The next generation will compete on performance. That creates something we have never truly had before: a race to the top." For consumers, WISEcode is starting with the question shoppers ask most and no one has answered: is my food ultra-processed? Its free UPF Detector(TM) lets anyone scan a barcode for a simple yes-or-no in seconds, then go as deep as the science allows. It's a free ingredient-based app, covering more than a million foods, and runs on iPhone and Android. Coming next is WISEcoach(TM), a personalized nutrition coach that evaluates every food against an individual's own goals rather than a one-size-fits-all standard, a shift the company describes as food finally adapting to the consumer instead of the other way around. At the WISEcode Fancy Bodega at the show's main entrance, attendees can test the platform and take home the WISEcode stuffed owl and hats. For brands, WISEcode's tools are designed to turn food transparency into competitive assets. WISEcode's Non-UPF Shield(TM) is a verification program available to brands through the company's verification portal. Non-UPF Verified(TM) program gives food brands a science-backed certification that proves their products meet the standard for non-ultra-processed food, helping verified brands get discovered by shoppers and retailers actively searching for cleaner food.

WISEcode aims to disrupt the food industry today.

WISEcode aims to disrupt the food industry today. Cracking open the food industry with New tools. Stroll into any grocery store and you're bombarded with more claims than you can shake a soup ladle at. But here comes WISEcode, striding into the 2026 Summer Fancy Food Show in New York with a bold proposition: rip apart the food game as Investors Hangout, LLC know it. It's about dropping the curtain on the brands hiding behind flashy ads and bringing real food quality to the front line. AI as the game-changer: from gimmicks to genuine. WISEcode's brainchild, FoodTruth(TM), signals a seismic shift. Instead of strutting around with overhyped labels, brands will duke it out over the hard truths of what's inside their boxes and bags. According to CEO Peter Castleman, AI isn't just tweaking the status quo; it's rewriting the whole darn book. The food industry, he claims, is set to move from a beauty contest to a battleground where real, quality products come first. Remember how the smartphone changed the way Investors Hangout, LLC did everything? Get ready for AI to launch the same upheaval here. It's like taking a shot across the bow of those big marketing budgets, slinging the power shift right into the hands of quality-focused producers. "The food industry feeds this country and the world, and the products on this show floor are spectacular," Castleman said. "The problem isn't the food. It's that we know more about our Uber driver than about what we feed our children." Tools that tell the whole truth. WISEcode isn't just showboating either - they've rolled out a buffet of tools for the curious consumer. Feel like knowing if your spag bol is chock full of ultra-processed junk? The UPF Detector(TM) has you covered, scanning barcodes with the ease of a Sunday morning. And coming soon, their WISEcoach(TM) plans to give Investors Hangout, LLC all a personal nutritionist - no more BS blanket diets, just tailor-made health choices. But hey, they're not just throwing consumers a bone. Brands get the chance to snag their Non-UPF Shield(TM), a badge of honor screaming "we're not jamming ultra-processed garbage down your throat." It's food transparency turned into an asset, and it's set to steer consumers clear of the dreaded aisle of doom. Bridging the knowledge gap. For WISEcode, the challenge isn't just shining a light on terrible food practices - it's about slapping a spotlight on the process. The current state of affairs has Investors Hangout, LLC fumbling in the dark, unsure of what's in its meals or what they do to Investors Hangout, LLC. Companies that embrace the clarity WISEcode pushes for might just become the Coca-Colas of clean eating, pioneers in a yet untapped frontier. Joining the race while the clock ticks. Castleman's pitch isn't just sweet words and pie-in-the-sky dreams. WISEcode's mission shoots for the moon, aiming to embed FoodTruth so deep into its buying habits that Investors Hangout, LLC expect transparency as the norm. Imagine strolling down the grocery aisle knowing your picks are backed by science, not marketing budgets. It's a mission more akin to public service than profit chasing. They extend an open invitation, asking allies to step up on this journey - this isn't about selling more food, they argue, it's about making better food and doing right by the future generations. Who knew buying groceries could be an act of revolution? Time will tell: A call to consumers and brands. While WISEcode talks a good game, the reality could shake out in countless ways. It's always been hard to cut through the noise, but maybe, just maybe, they're onto something here. If they can pull off this promise, deliver on solid food data, and truly empower consumers like they claim, well, then Investors Hangout, LLC'll have something to chew on - or should I say, celebrate. One thing's certain, in this changing landscape, sitting on the fence might just get you left behind. WISEcode lays out the tools, but time will tell if consumers bite.

WISEcode launches Non-UPF Shield and app to detect ultra-processed foods

WISEcode, a food technology company, has launched the Non-UPF Shield verification programme and a redesigned mobile app at Natural Products Expo West. Both products are powered by the company's WISEcode UPF Standard, which evaluates ultra-processed foods at ingredient level. The Non-UPF Shield offers brands a faster verification process using WISEcode's automated ingredient database covering 840,000 packaged food products. Most verifications complete instantly, with verified products gaining visibility in the consumer app and with retailers. For Expo West, WISEcode is offering the first SKU free for one year with three or more submissions, and 50% off additional SKUs. The updated mobile app now displays ultra-processed food classification immediately when consumers scan products, explaining contributing ingredients in plain language. Initial brand participants include Blue Zones Kitchen and OKO.
