Requirements
  • A current North Carolina registered nurse license or registered nurse multistate licensure privilege through the Nurse Licensure Compact is required.
  • At least one year of previous leadership experience is required.
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing or bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
  • A minimum of three years of emergency department experience is required.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the emergency department at Moore Regional Hospital - Richmond.
  • Schedule and staff the department using appropriate resources.
  • Coordinate patient-care requirements using available resources and participate in delegated special projects.
  • Facilitate patient and family education.
  • Conduct routine patient rounds to ensure care reflects patient needs.
  • Ensure staff orientation follows the department orientation plan.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources and Recruitment on new-staff and recruitment/retention events.
  • Ensure ongoing staff development.
  • Conduct departmental and designated meetings.
  • Take administrative call for the service.
  • Ensure service data is complete, outcomes are documented, and actions are taken.
  • Participate in employee selection and termination.
  • Ensure completion of staff performance evaluations and counseling.
  • Monitor the work environment and initiate efforts to support employee satisfaction.
  • Ensure performance improvement, standards of care and practice, regulatory requirements, and outcome studies.
  • Oversee the budget for appropriate services.
  • Complete payroll.
Desired Qualifications
  • Certification in the specialty area is preferred.
