New Balance to end 2026 with 21 stores in Mexico.

New Balance to end 2026 with 21 stores in Mexico. By MBN Staff | MBN staff - Tue, 09/15/2026 - 14:17 DIA assistant Summary: New Balance will end 2026 with 21 physical stores and more than 4,000 m^2 of retail space in Mexico, combining network expansion and renovations with eCommerce to strengthen its omnichannel strategy. The company's growth comes as Mexico's retail market increasingly depends on higher average ticket values, digital sales and store productivity, with at least three additional boutiques planned for 2027. New Balance will close 2026 with 21 physical stores and more than 4,000 m2 of retail space in Mexico, strengthening its presence in the country as retailers adapt to changing consumer behavior and an increasingly omnichannel market. The footwear company is combining new openings and store renovations with its eCommerce platform to expand its performance and lifestyle categories. For New Balance, the development of its physical network therefore comes alongside a broader effort to integrate stores with digital channels and provide consumers with a consistent brand experience across different points of contact. New Balance Expands Its Physical Footprint The company's latest openings are part of a strategy focused on reaching additional consumers while updating existing locations. During 4Q2026, New Balance will open stores in San Agustin, Nuevo Leon; Parque Toreo, Mexico City; and Altaria, Aguascalientes. It will also remodel its Galerias Guadalajara location. These projects will bring the company's Mexican store network to 21 locations by year-end. The expanded footprint will cover more than 4,000 m2 of retail space, complemented by New Balance's eCommerce operation in Mexico. The company said the new and remodeled stores are intended to present its product portfolio more comprehensively while expanding access to both performance and lifestyle offerings. Arturo Bejarano, General Manager of New Balance Mexico, said the company's planned openings in 2027 will represent another stage in its growth strategy. The executive said the company aims to enter new markets while translating the relationship between its sporting heritage, innovation and broader cultural presence into its physical spaces. Retail Growth Shifts Toward Higher-Value Sales According to Getin's 2025 Annual Report, analysis of more than 5,550 physical stores across 25 sectors found that retail sales growth in 2025 was driven primarily by increases in average ticket values. Anabell Trejo, CEO and co-founder of Getin, said retailers were selling more expensive products rather than increasing the number of products sold, reflecting price adjustments amid persistent inflationary pressures. Footwear was among the strongest-performing categories during the year. Its growth was supported largely by higher average ticket prices, while the services sector benefited from an increase in units sold. Other categories faced greater pressure, with furniture and home products recording declines in both revenue and ticket size. The broader retail figures also point to the importance of distinguishing between network expansion and organic growth. ANTAD-affiliated retailers generated MX$1.67 trillion (US$97.12 billion) in sales in 2025. Same-store sales increased 3.1%, compared with 5.6% growth in total sales. The difference was largely attributed to the opening of approximately 1,700 new stores. For companies such as New Balance, this environment places greater importance on the productivity of individual locations and their ability to complement digital sales rather than simply increasing store counts. eCommerce Strengthens the Omnichannel Model The growing role of digital commerce provides another dimension to New Balance's expansion strategy. While physical retailers continue to invest in stores, online channels have become a major source of growth and an increasingly important component of the consumer journey. Mexico's eCommerce sales reached MX$867 billion in 2025, representing nominal growth of 23.8%, according to industry data. Department stores recorded an even stronger increase, with online revenue rising 26.9% year over year. The Mexican Online Sales Association projects that online channels could represent 17.7% of total retail sales by the end of 2026. This shift means physical stores increasingly operate as part of an integrated retail network rather than as standalone sales points. Store locations can support product discovery, brand engagement and fulfillment, while digital platforms provide consumers with additional purchasing and product-access options. Retail investment is continuing despite slower economic growth. Mexico's GDP expanded 0.6% in 2025, while retailers invested approximately US$3.3 billion in infrastructure and digital capabilities. ANTAD expects investment to increase to US$3.7 billion in 2026. New Balance Prepares Its Next Expansion Phase Against this backdrop, New Balance plans to continue expanding its Mexican presence in 2027, although the company has not yet disclosed the locations of its next stores. At least three additional boutiques are planned, with the first markets expected to be confirmed during the first quarter of next year. The next phase will test whether the company can translate a larger physical footprint into sustained customer engagement while leveraging its digital channel. Industry trends indicate that retailers are increasingly using data analytics, inventory optimization, personalized marketing and financial tools to improve conversion and purchase frequency. New Balance's global operations provide a broader base for its Mexican strategy. The company is headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, operates five factories in New England and one in Flimby, United Kingdom, and employs more than 7,000 people worldwide. It reported global sales of US$4.4 billion in 2021.

New Balance 991v2 arrives in Wind Chime/Brilliant White.

New Balance 991v2 arrives in Wind Chime/Brilliant White. New Balance expands the 991v2 lineup with a crisp Wind Chime and Brilliant White iteration, a study in restrained palette work that channels the model's heritage of understated refinement. The colorway balances warm and cool tones, positioning itself as a versatile option that transcends seasonal wear. Design details. The Wind Chime and Brilliant White 991v2 demonstrates New Balance's discipline with color restraint. Rather than layering competing hues, the silhouette employs a dual-tone approach - the softer Wind Chime tonality anchors the upper construction, while Brilliant White punctuates structural elements and the midsole, creating visual separation without visual noise. Deal Available 77% OFF New Balance APC Hoodie $16 $70 Save $54 Shop This Release New Balance 1890 Faded Black Utility Green $190 Mar 12, 2026 The 991v2 itself carries forward the lineage established by the 991, a model that has quietly defined New Balance's position in heritage running aesthetics. The revised proportions of the v2 iteration refine the original's already considered silhouette, tightening the overall profile while maintaining the engineered comfort that has kept the model relevant across both running and lifestyle contexts. Brand heritage and model context. The 991v2 represents New Balance's evolution of a design that was never built for trend cycles. The original 991 emerged from the brand's running division, and each subsequent iteration has honored that foundation rather than reinventing it. This Wind Chime and Brilliant White release continues that trajectory - a shoe designed for longevity rather than immediate hype. What distinguishes New Balance's approach in this space is restraint. While other heritage runners chase novelty through aggressive color blocking, the 991v2 philosophy suggests that a well-executed neutral colorway outlasts trends. The Wind Chime and Brilliant White pairing exemplifies that logic, offering a shoe that reads as contemporary without announcing itself. Release and availability. The 991v2 in Wind Chime and Brilliant White is now available through New Balance's core retail network. For those monitoring the brand's broader release calendar, this drop arrives as the market continues to see robust New Balance activity - the brand currently has multiple colorways and models in circulation across retailers, with deal penetration reaching 43% off average across tracked inventory. Given the 991v2's positioning as a core silhouette rather than a limited release, this colorway should maintain availability across standard retail channels, though New Balance drops do tend to show selective size depletion in popular widths and half-sizes. FAQs. What is the New Balance 991v2? The 991v2 is the revised iteration of New Balance's 991 running model, refined for improved proportions and comfort while maintaining the original's design language and performance-driven engineering. Where can I buy the Wind Chime/Brilliant White 991v2? The colorway is available through New Balance's official retail channels and authorized sneaker retailers. Availability may vary by size and location. How does this compare to other New Balance releases right now? New Balance is currently tracking numerous styles across retailers with competitive pricing; shoppers should compare this release against ongoing deals on other 991v2 colorways and complementary models to assess value.
