Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree is required, although equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • Three to five years of experience in demand planning or production scheduling is required.
  • A basic understanding of material requirements planning, material master settings, and SAP is required; SAP knowledge is highly desired.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Proficiency in diplomatic communication is required.
  • Availability outside normal business hours is required.
Responsibilities
  • Manage purchasing, warehousing, cycle counting, and the production capacity plan for the plant's origination area.
  • Analyze capacity, production speed, and lead times.
  • Work with vendors and the Master Scheduler to determine capacity, inventory, and outsourcing solutions.
  • Move work across the network to level-load plants and assets.
  • Analyze forecast, annual usage, and historical data to pre-plan for volume changes and related activities.
  • Monitor plant schedules and review material requirements planning results to optimize purchased components and inventory availability.
  • Monitor plant schedules and open backlog to optimize weekly availability, lead times, and shipping attainment.
  • Determine optimal inventory levels to maximize service levels, minimize costs, and maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Assist the operations team in optimizing production flow.
  • Support and drive continuous process improvement in support of the ORBIS Quality Policy.
  • Ensure supply lead times align with asset-base capability.
  • Maintain inventory levels consistent with service and working-capital goals.
  • Ensure timely asset and order moves to meet business needs.
  • Monitor schedule attainment and scheduling practices against business goals.
  • Maintain cycle-count attainment and accuracy.
