Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree is required.
  • A valid North Carolina registered nurse license or compact-state registered nurse license is required.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and Basic Life Support certifications are required.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are required.
  • The ability to maintain strict confidentiality of medical, financial, and staff-related information is required.
  • The ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously in an organized manner is required.
Responsibilities
  • Facilitate and provide care to patients in a busy cardiology clinic.
  • Obtain patients' basic vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, and electrocardiograms.
  • Triage patient phone calls.
  • Monitor laboratory results and report them to the physician.
  • Review test results with patients as instructed by the provider.
  • Manage prescription refills with patients, pharmacies, and providers.
  • Oversee patients' charts to ensure appointments, referrals, and test results are documented.
  • Pre-load information into Epic.
  • Ensure patients are appropriately scheduled according to guidelines.
  • Assist with prior authorizations.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least two years of nursing experience in cardiology is preferred.
  • Experience in a physician practice setting is preferred.
  • Computer skills including Epic, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Teams are preferred.
