- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- One to three years of construction or renovation experience is required.
- Training in weatherization and energy-efficiency principles is required.
- Six months to one year of weatherization experience is required, with air sealing and insulation preferred.
- BPI certification is required.
- Candidates must have problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Candidates must be comfortable using handheld data devices and learning new technology.
- Candidates must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Candidates must be able to bend, stoop, reach, and stand for long periods.
- Candidates must be able to lift and carry insulation materials and equipment.
- Candidates must have adequate distance, peripheral, and depth perception vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- A valid driver's license and at least three years of a clean driving record are required.
- Candidates must successfully complete a background check and drug screening.
- Install home energy-conservation measures, including insulation, air sealing, and weather stripping.
- Prepare attics for insulation using baffles, flooring, damming, and attic rulers.
- Operate hand and power tools to complete installations.
- Safely operate light and moderately heavy construction equipment.
- Follow all safety guidelines and company protocols.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance.
- Maintain clean and organized job sites.
- Stock and check the service truck daily for required materials.
- Complete job sheets, inspection checklists, and related paperwork.
- Communicate status updates to management and team leaders.
- Drive and operate company service vehicles, including light- to medium-duty trucks.
- Perform additional related tasks as needed to support successful project completion.
- Construction or renovation experience is preferred for candidates who enjoy hands-on work.
- Air sealing and insulation experience is preferred.
