About the job

Requirements
  • Deep expertise with Salesforce as the core system of record for go-to-market systems, including declarative, programmatic, and integration approaches, and the architectural judgment to select appropriate patterns based on scale, maintainability, risk, and downstream data implications.
  • Demonstrated experience owning architecture for a multi-tool go-to-market stack in a business-to-business or software-as-a-service environment, including designing integrations, defining data flows, and managing system dependencies at scale.
  • Strong understanding of integration design patterns such as application programming interfaces, middleware, and event-driven flows, and their implications for reliability, reporting, user experience, and operational support.
  • Experience with marketing automation and sales engagement platforms, and go-to-market data enrichment or orchestration tooling.
  • Solid data literacy, including defining data contracts, validating data across systems, and partnering with data and analytics teams on integrity and reporting.
  • Strong judgment on permissions, auditability, release risk, and data governance in complex business systems environments.
  • A track record of operating as a staff-level or lead individual contributor, setting technical direction, reviewing designs, and raising quality across a team without formal management authority.
  • Proven ability to own ambiguous, high-stakes projects end-to-end, from problem discovery through deployment and adoption, with minimal oversight.
  • Experience defining durable architecture artifacts and operating mechanisms, not just delivering projects.
  • Experience running or heavily contributing to vendor evaluations and platform migrations, including technical diligence, security considerations, and implementation planning.
  • Ability to ask the right questions, challenge assumptions, make tradeoffs transparent, and co-create solutions with stakeholders in ambiguous environments.
  • Proven ability to build trust with go-to-market leaders and represent systems thinking in cross-functional forums, translating fluently between technical and business audiences.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including clear documentation, crisp design documents, and skimmable stakeholder updates.
Responsibilities
  • Define and maintain the target architecture for the go-to-market systems ecosystem, including how data and workflows move between Salesforce, HubSpot, Clay, and adjacent tools such as enrichment, engagement, telephony, billing, and analytics, and drive the stack toward that architecture.
  • Define and maintain the canonical go-to-market systems architecture, including system-of-record boundaries, key data domains, integration patterns, and architecture decision records, so the team has clear standards to build against.
  • Design and build scalable, maintainable solutions for complex cross-system initiatives, owning them from problem framing through deployment.
  • Continuously audit the stack's health, including integration reliability, data integrity, technical debt, security posture, permissions, auditability, and platform limits, and drive remediation before problems reach stakeholders.
  • Review and guide solution designs across the Business Systems & Tools team, providing guardrails and feedback to improve scalability, maintainability, and clarity.
  • Establish and evangelize standards for integration patterns, data design, deployment practices, release governance, and documentation.
  • Mentor engineers on architecture and technical decision-making, leading through influence and expertise rather than direct management.
  • Partner with Sales, Betterment Advisor Solutions, and Betterment at Work stakeholders to understand workflows, frame problems, evaluate tradeoffs, and translate needs into pragmatic system designs.
  • Track developments in go-to-market systems, especially artificial-intelligence-driven tooling and data enrichment; bring stakeholders new approaches and pressure-test vendor claims against real requirements.
  • Collaborate with Data and Product/Engineering teams on systems integration, data contracts, and data integrity across company platforms.
  • Step into high-priority or high-risk initiatives across stakeholder areas when deep architectural ownership is needed, especially when work spans multiple tools, teams, or business processes.
  • Lead technical diligence and implementation architecture for new tools and major platform changes by defining requirements, assessing fit against the target architecture, coordinating security and integration design, and guiding implementation through user acceptance testing and cutover.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with HubSpot is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Clay or similar signal-based automation platforms is a significant plus.
  • Salesforce architect-track certifications such as Application Architect, System Architect, or Integration Architecture Designer.
  • Experience with artificial-intelligence-driven go-to-market workflows, including automated enrichment, outbound orchestration, or conversation intelligence writing back to customer relationship management systems.
  • Experience with Salesforce deployment and DevOps tooling such as Copado, and release management best practices.
  • Familiarity with the broader revenue operations stack, including call intelligence, sales engagement, customer success platforms, billing, and business intelligence tools.

Betterment launches unified managed accounts for RIAs with automated tax management

Betterment Advisor Solutions has launched Unified Managed Accounts (UMAs), enabling advisors to combine multiple investment strategies within a single client account. The platform allows advisors to blend Betterment's model marketplace portfolios with custom strategies as distinct sleeves whilst maintaining coordinated rebalancing and automated tax management across all holdings. CEO Sarah Levy said advisors consistently requested tools to deliver personalised portfolios at scale. The UMAs feature lets advisors configure each investment sleeve independently while Betterment coordinates tax-loss harvesting and rebalancing across strategies. The launch follows Betterment's model marketplace expansion earlier this year, which added portfolios from Goldman Sachs Asset Management, State Street Investment Management, and Vanguard. The company indicated UMAs will support future direct indexing capabilities.

Betterment turns Drake Maye's perfect Spiral into 'breaderment'

Betterment turns Drake Maye's perfect Spiral into 'breaderment' Created by Another Thing, the campaign sees Ann Michael Maye transform Drake's football 'Perfect Spiral' into a limited-edition cinnamon swirl loaf Editorial Series Campaigns and creative work from across the globe, all in one place. New England Patriots Quarterback Drake and his wife Ann Michael Maye have partnered with wealth management platform Betterment for new national 'Breaderment' campaign from Another Thing, which features Ann Michael creating the 'Perfect Spiral' cinnamon swirl bread. The partnership ties in nicely because Ann Michael is a baker and has become widely known on social for her baking content. "When Betterment came to us with the idea for the 'Breaderment' campaign, I thought it was the perfect way to bring Drake and me together for something we both enjoy. I love baking, he loves football, and somehow we ended up turning 'making bread' into actual bread. It felt like a really fun way to bring both of us into the idea," said Ann Michael Maye. To celebrate the campaign, Betterment and Ann Michael have teamed up with Boston's Flour Bakery and co-founder Joanne Chang to recreate the limited-edition loaf at participating Flour locations October 2-8th, while supplies last. The loaves will be available for free while supplies last. Customers simply need to say 'BREADerment' at the register.

Betterment Advisor Solutions launches AI Document Reader.

Betterment Advisor Solutions launches AI Document Reader. The new tool automates brokerage statement uploads and transfer requests, meant to cut account opening time. Davis Janowski, Senior Technology Editor, Wealth Management September 24, 2026 Want a quick summary? Betterment Advisor Solutions has launched an AI-powered document reader within its client onboarding experience that is meant to further automate the process of account opening. The document reader, built internally, allows advisors to upload client brokerage statements directly (often as a PDF), with AI populating transfer request details automatically, building on Betterment Advisor Solutions' digital onboarding that helps advisors set up transfers in as little as 30 seconds, according to the company. The tool adheres to Betterment's privacy and security standards, with customer statements not used to train AI models and sensitive data protected with encryption, among other security measures. The document reader joins Betterment's other AI features including an AI-enabled Account Recommender and Custom Portfolios AI Insights for retail customers and an AI Plan Benchmarking tool for retirement plan sponsors. Asked whether Betterment has built AI-notetaking tools or agents for its advisors, Alison Considine, who heads up strategy and business development at Betterment Advisor Solutions, said these were areas the unit was exploring. "Feedback from advisors helps inform our decisions for what is next on the roadmap," she said, hinting that such products might be coming. Betterment plans to make data from its new AI Document Reader available to agentic workflows in its advisor application before the end of the year, followed by an MCP release, according to CEO Sarah Levy in a prepared statement. The AI-powered document reader is available now to all advisors on Betterment Advisor Solutions. Betterment, which launched in 2010, later built Betterment Institutional in 2014, which then became Betterment for Advisors, and in 2024 was rebranded to Betterment Advisor Solutions.
