About the job

Requirements
  • A background specifically in lifecycle marketing, ideally within a product-led growth or self-serve motion.
  • A track record of owning campaigns end to end, including strategy, build, quality assurance, and sending, and shipping programs that moved a metric such as activation, retention, or renewal conversion.
  • Hands-on build experience in Marketo or an equivalent marketing automation platform, including audience builds, program or campaign setup, suppressions and contact governance, pre-send quality assurance and live proofs, and launch monitoring.
  • Ability to work directly with data teams to validate record-level data and targeting logic, such as auditing segment membership or spot-checking lists against expectations. Writing SQL is a plus, not a requirement.
  • A track record of translating technical products or raw usage signals into messaging credible to developer or administrator audiences.
  • Comfort navigating developer ecosystems, cloud infrastructure, or complex multi-product software platforms.
  • Senior-level judgment and ownership as an individual contributor, including operating amid ambiguity and driving programs independently while collaborating with a senior peer.
Responsibilities
  • Own and build lifecycle campaigns, including email and in-product messaging, across Docker's Container and AI Platform products, including Sandboxes and AI Governance, for end users and administrators.
  • Design and run large-scale programmatic sends, such as recurring account health checks to a base in the tens of millions, using the marketing automation stack, currently Marketo and Mailgun, with a platform transition expected in the next 6–12 months.
  • Establish and run automated first-touch flows for product-qualified leads and inbound leads in partnership with business development representative and renewals stakeholders.
  • Partner with data and growth engineering to obtain usage signals campaigns depend on, using Snowflake and internal data tools, and validate each audience and its underlying signal before every send.
  • Own suppression lists and contact governance rules to keep campaigns compliant and prevent over-messaging or reaching the wrong audience.
  • Run pre-send quality assurance and live proofs for every campaign, monitor launches, and troubleshoot issues in real time, including broken data synchronizations.
  • Translate technical product usage and adoption signals into messaging that is credible and useful to developers and administrators.
  • Turn a growing list of priorities into a concrete build queue by itemizing and sequencing work and flagging capacity or dependency issues early.
  • Coordinate with design and agency partners to keep campaign quality and turnaround on track.
  • Own program naming, tracking, and reporting so the team can see what is live, what is next, and what each program is driving.
  • Get up to speed on Docker's product-led growth motion, Container and AI product areas, and existing lifecycle programs; build working relationships with data, business development representative, renewals, and design or agency partners.
  • Audit existing user and administrator nurtures, renewal automation, and product-qualified lead and inbound lead outreach, and learn the Marketo and Mailgun stack and its planned transition.
  • Work with the lifecycle team to turn the existing priority list into themes, a build queue, and a sequenced roadmap.
  • Within the first 90 days, take ownership of at least one complete program, such as an administrator nurture flow or product-qualified lead first-touch sequence, from build through send.
  • Within the first 90 days, establish an initial version of automated renewal outreach with the renewals team.
  • Within the first 90 days, establish naming, tracking, and reporting that give the team visibility into live programs and their impact.
  • Own a mature, scaled set of lifecycle programs across assigned products, audiences, and lifecycle stages.
  • Demonstrate measurable lift in activation, retention, or renewal conversion attributable directly to owned programs.
  • Help lifecycle marketing operate as a predictable, automated engine rather than a set of one-off campaigns as scope expands across the platform.
Desired Qualifications
  • Writing SQL yourself is a plus, but is not required.

About the company

Docker builds, shares, and runs applications in isolated containers by packaging an application and its dependencies into a container image that runs consistently across different systems. It provides tools like Docker Desktop for local development, Docker Hub as a container image repository, and a command-line interface to build, run, and manage containers. It differentiates itself with a large ecosystem, an official image repository, and integrated tools that support an end-to-end container workflow. The company aims to help developers consistently build, share, and run software across any environment, using a freemium model with subscription tiers and additional services.

What believers are saying

  • Docker added Mat Velloso and Vinh Le on August 18, 2026, sharpening AI execution.
  • Cloud Sandboxes boot in hundreds of milliseconds and scale to 16 vCPUs.
  • Docker is submitting Kits to CNCF, positioning itself as the agent standard.

What critics are saying

  • Podman Desktop and free registries like Harbor undercut Docker Desktop and Hub pricing.
  • Docker Cloud Sandboxes remain experimental in docs, and one-hour expirations disrupt long jobs.
  • If OCI-native Kits standardize without Docker, the company becomes a replaceable runtime wrapper.

BAND partners with Docker to enable safe sandboxed execution for multi-agent AI teams

BAND has partnered with Docker to integrate sandboxed local execution into its multi-agent collaboration platform. The integration enables developers to run AI agents inside Docker Sandboxes' isolated microVM environments whilst connecting them to larger agent teams through BAND's platform. The BAND Python Kit for Docker Sandboxes allows agents to work with local codebases in isolated environments while communicating with other agents and humans in BAND rooms. BAND provides collaboration infrastructure, including persistent agent identities and shared rooms, whilst Docker Sandboxes offers isolated execution with its own kernel and filesystem. The architecture enables sophisticated workflows where hosted and local agents can collaborate. A BAND room might contain hosted planning and research agents alongside a local coding agent in a Docker Sandbox, with only the local agent accessing the repository. The integration addresses challenges as AI agents evolve from chat interfaces to autonomous systems requiring safe code execution and collaboration capabilities.

Docker launches cloud sandboxes for secure AI agent execution beyond local machines

Docker has launched Docker Cloud Sandboxes, enabling AI agents to run in cloud infrastructure rather than on developers' laptops. The solution extends Docker's secure local sandbox isolation to the cloud, allowing agentic workflows to continue running after machines shut down. The service lets developers start work locally and shift to the cloud without switching environments. Cloud Sandboxes boot in hundreds of milliseconds and scale from 1 to 16 vCPUs without requiring infrastructure provisioning. Docker also introduced next-generation Kits, an open specification for packaging agentic sandboxes as standard OCI images. The company plans to submit the Kits specification to the Cloud Native Computing Foundation. Docker Cloud Sandboxes are available now at docker.com/products/docker-sandboxes.

Docker partners with NanoClaw creator weeks after viral AI agent tool launch

NanoClaw creator Gavriel Cohen has struck a deal with Docker to integrate Docker Sandboxes into his open-source AI agent-building tool, capping a whirlwind six weeks since the project's launch. Cohen built NanoClaw in a weekend as a secure alternative to OpenClaw, using just 500 lines of code compared to OpenClaw's 800,000. The project exploded after AI researcher Andrej Karpathy praised it on X, garnering 22,000 GitHub stars and 4,600 forks. Cohen has since shut down his AI marketing startup, which was on track for $1 million in annual recurring revenue, to launch NanoCo around the project. The company plans to offer commercial services including forward deployed engineers to help companies build secure AI agents, though specific monetisation plans remain under development. VCs are already calling, Cohen says.
