Lucid shares plunge after PIF draw as RBC slashes price target by 43%.

Lucid shares plunge after PIF draw as RBC slashes price target by 43%. Lucid shares plunged on Monday, the first trading session after the EV maker disclosed another $400 million draw on its credit line from Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF), as RBC Capital Markets slashed its price target on the stock by 42.9%. The stock was down 9.4% at $3.43 at 2:28 p.m. in New York, after touching $3.41, putting it on course for its lowest close since the company went public in 2021. That would break the previous low set on Friday, when the shares closed at $3.79. The decline wiped about $140 million off Lucid's market value, which stood at approximately $1.35 billion based on its 394.07 million shares outstanding. The broader market was little changed, with the Nasdaq Composite down 0.5% and the S&P 500 down 0.1%, while Rivian fell 2.7% and Tesla 0.9%. The filing. Lucid disclosed the draw in a regulatory filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, minutes after the market closed. The company said it drew $400 million on October 6 from the delayed draw term loan provided by Ayar Third Investment Company, a PIF affiliate. That left about $2.1 billion outstanding under the facility and about $400 million of remaining capacity, Lucid said. It was the fourth draw this year and the second of $400 million in six weeks, after $500 million on April 1, $800 million on July 6 and $400 million on August 24. Monday's drop extended the stock's slide to 17.6% over five sessions and left it down about 67% this year and 84% from a year earlier. RBC's cut. RBC Capital Markets Analyst Tom Narayan kept his Sector Perform rating on Lucid while lowering his target by 42.9%, the firm's fifth cut this year. The new target is about 16% above Monday's afternoon price and 5.5% above Friday's close. Narayan cut his 2027 revenue forecast for Lucid to $2.8 billion and lowered the sales multiple he applies to the company to 0.5 times from 0.7 times, citing disappointing Gravity sales, according to a summary of the note published by Benzinga. He forecast third-quarter revenue of $351 million, about 16% below the consensus of $418.3 million, and expects weaker gross margins as lower output spreads fixed costs over fewer vehicles, according to Benzinga. Narayan models 15,600 deliveries for 2026, below a consensus of 17,100. Lucid delivered 10,852 vehicles in the first nine months, so his forecast implies about 4,750 in the fourth quarter, up roughly 25% from the 3,806 it handed over in the third, by EV's calculation. Lucid's third-quarter deliveries fell 6.7% from a year earlier, and production dropped 24.1% to 2,954 vehicles after the company eliminated a shift at its Arizona plant in June. The delivery figure was about 19% below a Visible Alpha consensus of 4,687, as Lucid sold down inventory, with deliveries exceeding production by 852 vehicles in the quarter. Lucid has given no delivery or production target for 2026 since withdrawing its 25,000 to 27,000 range in May, and has tied the quarter to an operating reset targeting $1.4 billion in cash flow improvements this year. Narayan sees autonomous-driving software as a longer-term opportunity with no meaningful near-term contribution, Benzinga reported. 3 years of Sector Perform. Narayan has rated Lucid Sector Perform since initiating coverage on September 8, 2023, with a $6 target, equal to $60 after Lucid's 1-for-10 reverse stock split in 2025. At the time, he said Lucid's technology was "12%-23% more efficient than its nearest peer" Tesla, but that its "brand awareness is low." He halved the target to $3 in March 2024, saying licensing talks with other carmakers had "largely been reactive," and reiterated it that September, writing that "the greatest upside to shares remains its ability to license this tech." In November 2024, he cut it to $2, citing the "lack of evidence of new deals being struck." That target, equal to $20 after the reverse split took effect on September 2, 2025, was cut to $14 in January, $10 in February after weaker-than-expected 2026 production guidance, $8 in April and $7 in July. After Lucid's March investor day, Narayan said he was "most concerned about the company's liquidity situation." Monday's $4 target is 80% below where RBC started the year. Where the street stands. Baird's Ben Kallo kept a Neutral rating and a $6 target after the third-quarter delivery report on October 6, while StoneX reiterated a Hold rating without a target. The PIF, Lucid's largest shareholder, has lent $2.1 billion through the loan since April, while the stake of Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal recently swung to a paper loss. Lucid will report third-quarter results on November 9. Cláudio Afonso is the Founder and Editor of EV, an independent electric vehicle news publication owned by CARBA, the company he founded in early 2021. Lucid Group draws $400M from Ayar DDTL, pushing total debt to $2.1B

Lucid Group drew $400 million from its Delayed Draw Term Loan facilities with Ayar Third Investment Company, an affiliate of the Public Investment Fund, on 6 October 2026. The electric vehicle manufacturer disclosed the transaction in a Form 8-K filing dated 9 October. Following the draw, Lucid's total outstanding principal under the DDTL stands at approximately $2.1 billion. The company retains around $400 million in available borrowing capacity under the existing facility. The transaction was executed under a pre-existing agreement with Ayar, requiring no new contracts. Chief Financial Officer Alexander De Bock authorised the filing. Key terms of the DDTL were previously disclosed in Form 8-K reports filed in August 2024, November 2025, and April 2026.

Lucid opens first company-owned body and paint center in Middle East.

Lucid opens first company-owned body and paint center in Middle East. Lucid has opened its first company-owned and operated body and paint repair center in the Middle East, in Riyadh, as the Saudi-backed EV maker builds out after-sales support. The facility "expands Lucid's aftersales network and strengthens support for customers in Saudi Arabia," the company said in a statement on Thursday. "Expanding our service capabilities in Saudi Arabia is an important step in delivering the quality and ownership experience our customers expect," said Billy Hayes, Lucid's Chief Customer Officer. "Our sales and service teams play a critical role in shaping the Lucid experience, and this facility reinforces our long-term commitment to customers in the Kingdom," Hayes added. Lucid's regional account on X, Lucid Motors Middle East, went further in a post describing the 2,600-square-meter site as the first Lucid body and paint center worldwide. The center offers vehicle body repair, aluminum body repair, calibration of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and diagnostics, according to the post. Lucid-trained technicians will work to the company's repair standards in dedicated body and paint environments, the statement said. The company did not disclose the investment involved or its staffing. The opening comes two months after CEO Silvio Napoli told analysts that Lucid had "under-invested in service" and "responded too slowly to quality issues." Larger than the Jeddah hub. At about 28,000 square feet, the Riyadh body shop is larger than the 23,000-square-foot studio and service center Lucid opened in Jeddah in August 2024. Outside the Middle East, Lucid shares body repair information with collision shops through its invitation-only Lucid Approved Body Repair Program. The statement said the center complements Lucid's studios and service centers in Riyadh and Jeddah and its mobile service offering. In Saudi Arabia, the locations page lists studios at I Mall in Riyadh, Jeddah Auto Mall and Shorofat Park in Al Khobar, the first two of which also offer service. It also lists service centers in Riyadh, including one at the North Industrial Complex, and mobile service hubs in Riyadh, Dammam, Al Khobar and Jeddah. Lucid opened its first regional studio at Riyadh's I Mall in October 2022, and added Al Khobar in December 2025 to complete a three-city Saudi network. Lucid had four studios and service centers in Saudi Arabia and one in the UAE at June 30, excluding temporary and satellite service centers, according to its quarterly filing. The UAE entry on the locations page is a single studio at Dubai's City Walk, opened in May 2024, and the page no longer lists the Abu Dhabi pop-up that opened in July 2025. Expansion promises. Faisal Sultan, Lucid's President of Middle East, said in July 2025 that two more GCC countries would go live in 2026, later saying smaller Gulf markets would probably follow an agency model. Lucid also planned "at least a further 10" locations in the region in 2026, including in Qatar, AGBI reported in February, citing the company's fourth-quarter statement. Lucid had not announced a new GCC market as of Thursday. In the UAE, Sultan acknowledged in October 2025 that sales "kind of slowed down" after a strong start. Lucid is moving its UAE business to an indirect sales model, two people familiar with the matter told EV in an August exclusive, a change the company has not announced. Government deal. Saudi Arabia generated $98.2 million of Lucid's revenue in the second quarter, 2.7 times the $35.9 million a year earlier, the filing shows. The Middle East accounted for 24.2% of second-quarter revenue of $405.3 million, making it Lucid's second-largest region after the United States. Most of that revenue comes from the Saudi government, which agreed in 2023 to buy up to 100,000 vehicles over ten years, a firm 50,000 plus an option on another 50,000. The agreement is with the Government of Saudi Arabia as represented by the Ministry of Finance, and the purchaser has sole discretion over the option, the filing shows. Net vehicle sales under the agreement reached SAR 361.5 million ($96.4 million) in the second quarter, roughly 98% of Saudi revenue by EV's calculation. In 2025, those sales totaled SAR 540.2 million ($144.1 million), about 89% of the $161.8 million Lucid earned in the Kingdom, according to its annual report. The government "committed to purchase more than 4,000 vehicles during 2026 and annually through 2032," then-Chief Financial Officer Taoufiq Boussaid said on the August 4 earnings call. The second-quarter purchases point to roughly 1,080 vehicles in that quarter alone, according to an EV estimate based on average revenue per vehicle, as Lucid does not break out deliveries by country. Receivables from the agreement made up 83.6% of Lucid's total accounts receivable at June 30, up from 68.0% at the end of 2025. In October 2025, Lucid partnered with PIF-backed Elm on government and corporate fleets in Saudi Arabia, covering reporting, technical inspection, maintenance and logistics. In July, Lucid's regional X account deleted a post that celebrated "5,000 vehicles in the Kingdom." Factory upgrade. Lucid has assembled vehicles from semi-knocked-down kits at its AMP-2 plant in King Abdullah Economic City since September 2023. The plant is being expanded for full vehicle production with a targeted capacity of 150,000 units a year. "We expect AMP-2 to be ready for production in early 2027, ready to run Midsize production in the second half of the year," Napoli said on the August call, referring to the platform that will underpin the Cosmos. Lucid's long-lived assets in Saudi Arabia rose to $899.1 million at June 30 from $658.6 million at the end of 2025. Lucid was the first global automaker to join the Saudi Made program, the company said in Thursday's statement. The body shop opening follows a separate after-sales push in Europe, where Lucid this week named a service-only partnerin eastern Germany starting in December. Lucid delivered 3,806 vehicles worldwide in the third quarter, down 6.7% from a year earlier, without a regional split. As of press time, Lucid shares were trading 0.5% lower in Thursday's pre-market at $3.87, after closing 6.49% lower on Wednesday at $3.89.
