Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree is required at minimum.
  • At least 3 years of industry or post-graduate experience in an engineering, laboratory, or research and development environment.
  • At least 3 years of programming experience with Rust, C++, or a similar language.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of compiler front-end quantum languages, back-end machine-specific targeting, and optimization passes for quantum circuit and classical optimization operating on classical and quantum operations.
  • Benchmark, profile, and optimize compiler execution and the quality and performance of generated quantum programs.
  • Collaborate on the design and implementation of a compiler targeting a real-time, distributed execution environment.
  • Work with physicists and engineers from other disciplines to solve complex problems.
  • Write high-quality, maintainable code in a research and development and rapid-prototyping environment.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or another relevant field.
  • Coursework in compiler fundamentals and a strong understanding of compiler design.
  • Ability to understand, combine, and apply algorithms to solve complex problems.
  • Experience developing and extending compiler infrastructures such as LLVM, MLIR, GCC, Cranelift, custom research compilers, or equivalent.
  • Experience using Python or other rapid prototyping and development tools to solve complex challenges.
  • Rust development experience with a track record of contribution to open-source and commercial projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with tree, graph, SAT, machine learning, and other algorithms.
  • Experience developing application-specific algorithms, especially where exact or optimal solutions are computationally intractable.
  • Experience testing and verifying the correctness of compiler transformations and optimizations.
  • Proficiency with software testing and deployment tools.

Quantinuum provides both quantum hardware and software. Quantinuum secures $1.5M LEDA funding to expand Albuquerque quantum photonics R&D centre

Quantinuum is expanding its research and development operations in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with $1.5 million in combined funding from the state and city through Local Economic Development Act grants. The trapped-ion quantum computing company will convert a vacant site at 5501 Wilshire into advanced laboratory and office space. The facility will focus on integrated photonics research for next-generation trapped-ion quantum processors. This includes developing chip-scale photonics for laser light delivery and qubit manipulation. The expansion strengthens Quantinuum's collaboration with Sandia National Laboratories, Los Alamos National Laboratory, and the University of New Mexico. The move aligns with New Mexico's $450 million investment in quantum research infrastructure. Quantinuum maintains its headquarters in Broomfield, Colorado, with additional centres in the UK, Germany, Japan, and Singapore.
