Requirements
  • Three to five years of experience as a healthcare chaplain.
  • Completed Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE), currently enrolled in a CPE program, or interested in CPE training.
  • A graduate seminary degree such as a Master of Divinity, specialized training within denominational guidelines, or an equivalent theological degree.
  • Completion of at least one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or current enrollment in a CPE program.
  • Membership in a nationally recognized professional chaplaincy certifying group.
  • Certification from a recognized chaplaincy organization such as APC, NACC, or NAJC.
  • Membership in a national pastoral care certifying group such as APC or NACC.
  • Denominational endorsement, such as a Letter of Call.
Responsibilities
  • Provide spiritual care and emotional support to patients, their families, and hospital staff.
  • Offer a comforting presence that transcends religious denominations and cultural backgrounds.
  • Listen empathetically and guide individuals through illness, injury, and grief, helping restore a sense of peace and hope.
Desired Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in theology, Religious Studies, or a related field is preferred.
  • Ordination or endorsement from a faith community is preferred.
