Everything happening in fashion this October.

Everything happening in fashion this October. Read it all here. Oct. 9, 2026 After four cities, dozens of shows, and countless viral moments, fashion month wrapped up this week. While you're digesting everything that unfolded over the past month (the clothes! bags! shoes!), don't overlook everything else happening in the industry. After all, October's fashion news is already kicking off with a flurry of need-to-know collaborations, campaigns, store openings, and more. Now that temperatures are cooling down, perhaps you're in the midst of a wardrobe refresh. One place to start your shopping? Skims - more specifically, its new Alpine collection. Following the success of its collaboration with The North Face, the shapewear brand is diving deeper into winter dressing, offering an assortment of cozy staples in cashmere, cotton fleece, sherpa knit, and more. Meanwhile, Frame and Ritz Paris unveiled the latest installment of their ongoing collaboration with a new campaign, 24 Hours in Paris, starring Charlotte Lawrence. For the partnership, the musician and it girl modeled the denim brand's newest collection - including suede jackets, dark-wash denim, and leather pants - from day to night, as captured through documentary-style footage and stills. Without further ado, scroll on to read up on all of October's biggest fashion news. As always, this story will be updated throughout the month as more news drops. Reformation taps Alexa Chung for A collab. Reformation is back with another buzzworthy collaboration, this time teaming up with OG fashion girl Alexa Chung on a 30-piece collection. Inspired by British classics and vintage romance, the lineup spans everything from ladylike velvet jackets to cheeky graphic tees ("much too much," one reads) and sequin bags. If you've ever aspired to dress like Chung, this is your chance. Naturally, though, the styles are selling out fast - in other words, run, don't walk. Kris Brock debuts his new namesake label. Five years after stepping away from his beloved brand, Kris Brock is back. This month, during Paris Fashion Week, the designer unveiled his new namesake label, BROCK. Its debut collection is slated for Spring/Summer 2027, with a resort collection set to follow next summer. "I re-fell in love with why I originally got into fashion, which is to make clothes," the designer shared in a press release. The 80-piece lineup oozes his signature romance, from dreamy floral prints to feminine lace and ruffles. Plus, most styles ring in at under $1,000. Skims launches its Alpine collection. On Oct. 8, Skims expanded its cold-weather assortment with the launch of its Alpine collection. Whether you're an avid skier or simply navigating chilly city streets, there's something for you - think faux-fur puffer jackets, cable-knit turtlenecks, sherpa pants, and other wardrobe essentials. Your new-season wardrobe is about to get a fashion-forward upgrade. Frame & Ritz Paris team up with Charlotte Lawrence. Frame and Ritz Paris are joining forces again, this time with singer Charlotte Lawrence. As mentioned, the artist is the face of the new campaign, 24 Hours in Paris, which follows her day in the accompanying collection, all perfectly suited for the City of Lights. Standout styles include the Ritz Suede Smoking Jacket and Frame's signature Ritz Cigarette, a low-rise, dark-wash jean with pocket embroidery. To celebrate the launch, Frame and Ritz Paris will host a pop-up at the Ritz Paris Boutique in the hotel's galerie at 15 Place Vendômein Paris, featuring the full collection, sweets from Ritz Paris Le Comptoir, and a gift with purchase (while supplies last). Jimmy Choo launches its 'pearls of Wisdom' capsule collection. This month, luxury label Jimmy Choo is celebrating its 30th anniversary with its new "Pearls of Wisdom" capsule collection, honoring one of the brand's signature embellishments. Designed by Creative Director Sandra Choi, the line reimagines the pearl motif across shoes, bags, and jewelry. Launched on Oct. 6, the collection features standout styles like the Ithaca shoes, adorned with pearls atop a gold wedge, and the Irina sandal, which boasts crystals and pearls festooned across the foot. "The 30-year milestone aligns intuitively with this motif we've long loved. For me, the pearl carries a quiet, enduring power - graceful, never overt, and always with a touch of playful purity," Choi said in a statement. "For this collection, I wanted the pearl to feel natural and instinctive, a subtle expression of our past that continues to shape our future." Chanel opens A new boutique in San Diego. On Oct. 8, Chanel opened its latest boutique at Westfield University Town Center in San Diego, California. Designed by New York-based architect and longtime Chanel collaborator Peter Marino, the 16,000-square-foot, two-story space houses the luxury label's ready-to-wear, watches, fine jewelry, fragrances, and beauty products. Meanwhile, according to a press release, many of the store's design details pay homage to Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel's apartment at 31 Rue Cambon in Paris, including its carefully selected furnishings and decorative objects. STATE Bags collaborates with Gray Malin. Parents, this one's for you: On October 6, STATE Bags launched a collaboration with Gray Malin, an esteemed fine art photographer (and dad!). Together, they designed kids' luggage and family travel essentials featuring Malin's playful beach and snow-themed prints, with prices ranging from $68 to $238. What's more, in keeping with STATE's philanthropic mission, every purchase helps support American kids and families in need. Urban Outfitters debuts its first-ever back-to-campus brand commercial. This month, Urban Outfitters debuted its first-ever back-to-school brand commercial, titled "All Together Now." The campaign highlights the brand's ongoing presence in college game-day culture, celebrating the students, athletes, and campuses that bring it to life. Throughout college football season, Urban Outfitters will host a series of on-campus activations, including a pop-up at the University of Wisconsin-Madison last weekend. The event featured performances by Mack Keane, The Linda Lindas, and Whatmore, along with an in-store event with Levi's.

SKIMS names Kisha Maldonado-Madrid VP of Influencer.

SKIMS names Kisha Maldonado-Madrid VP of Influencer. CELEBRITY PR CASE STUDY, EXECUTIVE APPOINTMENT Kisha Maldonado-Madrid was named VP of Influencer at SKIMS, PR Week reported in August 2026. Her path there runs through the same two firms as Tracy Nguyen Romulus, SKIMS' Chief Communications Officer - not sequentially, but at the same time, twice over, across more than a decade. SKIMS named Kisha Maldonado-Madrid VP of Influencer, PR Week reported in August 2026, adding a second senior communications hire whose career runs directly through the same agencies as Tracy Nguyen Romulus, the brand's Chief Communications Officer. Who is Kisha Maldonado-Madrid? Maldonado-Madrid is a two-decade communications and influencer-marketing executive, most recently founder and CEO of Cruz Control Digital, a Los Angeles creator-marketing agency. Before founding it, she served as Chief Operating Officer of Kourtney Kardashian's Poosh in 2021 and Vice President of Influencer Marketing at Cashmere Agency from 2019 to 2021, where a July 2019 PRNewswire announcement called her a "20-year industry expert" who had worked with brands including YouTube, Macy's, Evian Natural Spring Water, Hennessy and Nickelodeon. When did she and Tracy Nguyen Romulus first overlap, at 5W? Maldonado-Madrid was Vice President at 5W Public Relations from February 2005 to June 2010, based in New York. Tracy Nguyen Romulus was Senior Vice President and Group Director at 5W from May 2002 to August 2007, also out of the New York office. For roughly two and a half years - February 2005 through August 2007 - the two women held senior titles at the same firm, in the same city, on the same roster. That roster, under Romulus, ran through celebrity and corporate accounts at once: Lil Kim, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, BET, Microsoft, McDonald's and Evian Natural Spring Water, according to Ronn Torossian's own account of hiring Romulus in 2002 and EPR's prior reporting on her career. Maldonado-Madrid's own 5W record describes managing "an array of highly respected international and domestic clients" and leading multiple account teams - work consistent with running pieces of that same roster, including its celebrity wing, during the years their tenures overlapped. 5W in that period had roughly 90 employees handling music, fashion, consumer and corporate accounts out of one Midtown office - small enough that two VPs would have been working in close proximity, not in separate silos. 5WPR: 25 Years Of ExcellencePublic Relations Agency | Media, Marketing and AI Search Talk to [email protected] When did they overlap again, at Industry Public Relations? Maldonado-Madrid went on to serve as Partner at Industry Public Relations, the Los Angeles firm Romulus founded in 2008, from September 2011 to December 2016 - a run that falls entirely inside Romulus's decade as Managing Partner there (2007 to 2017). This overlap isn't just dates and geography: Maldonado-Madrid's own Industry PR record lists Ice Cube as a client, the same name that appears on Romulus's Industry PR roster in EPR's earlier coverage. Her record also credits her with developing integrated strategy for retailer Shiekh Shoes and media outlet Complex, engineering a 70% social-follower increase for a client campaign, organizing the private influencer event that helped launch Rihanna's FENTY sneaker with Puma, and managing a four-person account team. Across roughly fifteen years and two firms, the two women ran 5W's - and later Industry PR's - celebrity and influencer accounts together, not as a coincidence of career timing but as overlapping colleagues under the same roof both times. What does this mean for SKIMS? Two of SKIMS' most senior communications and influencer executives - its Chief Communications Officer and its new VP of Influencer - spent more than a decade combined working the same agency rosters before either one touched the SKIMS business. The in-house operator model EPR has previously described in Romulus's case, where founder trust is built over years rather than campaigns, extends in Maldonado-Madrid's hire to the working relationships she brought in with her: SKIMS didn't just hire an influencer-marketing veteran, it hired someone whose working history with its own CCO predates SKIMS' founding by more than a decade. What has Tracy Nguyen Romulus said about the kind of team she builds? Romulus has described what she values in the people she works alongside in terms that match this pattern: she has said the most fulfilling part of her work is the caliber and dedication of the team around her, not any single campaign. She rarely gives interviews and did not respond to EPR's request for comment on Maldonado-Madrid's SKIMS hire specifically. What is her role at SKIMS? VP of Influencer, per PR Week's August 2026 report. Frequently asked questions. VP of Influencer at SKIMS and founder/CEO of Cruz Control Digital. Earlier roles include Partner at Industry Public Relations (2011-2016), Vice President at 5W Public Relations (2005-2010), and VP of Influencer Marketing at Cashmere Agency (2019-2021). Did she work directly with Tracy Nguyen Romulus? Their tenures overlapped at two firms - 5W Public Relations (2005-2007) and Industry Public Relations (2011-2016) - where Maldonado-Madrid served as Partner under Romulus's Managing Partner. EPR has not confirmed they worked the same accounts, beyond a shared client, Ice Cube, at Industry PR. What is her new role at SKIMS? VP of Influencer, reported by PR Week in August 2026. Where else has EPR covered this pattern? Skims will open its first sacramento-area store.

Skims will open its first sacramento-area store. Kim Kardashian's shapewear brand could soon join Westfield Galleria. Published Date: September 30, 2026, 4:34 PM EDT Skims, the shapewear and clothing brand founded by Kim Kardashian, could open its first Sacramento-area store inside the Westfield Galleria at Roseville, according to a building permit application filed for 1151 Galleria Blvd, Suite 128. No opening date has surfaced yet, though the filing marks the clearest sign so far that the brand is moving toward a local debut. The Culver City-based company has grown into a global name since launching, now operating more than 100 stores worldwide and selling shapewear, undergarments and clothing for both women and men. Its nearest existing location to the Sacramento region sits in the Bay Area, making Roseville a notable expansion into the Central Valley market. Skims has leaned heavily into brick-and-mortar growth over the past two years, opening flagship and mall locations across major U.S. cities and even overseas, including a London store that debuted this past summer. A Roseville location would place the brand alongside a wave of national retailers filling space in the Galleria's recently renovated promenade. The mall has drawn a string of new tenants in 2026, part of a broader push to reposition the property with entertainment and lifestyle brands rather than relying solely on traditional apparel retail. A Skims store would add a major beauty-and-fashion name to that lineup, likely drawing shoppers from across the greater Sacramento area who've previously had to travel to the Bay Area for the brand.
