About the Job

Requirements

  • Solid background in optics and color science, including hands-on understanding of sRGB, Adobe RGB, and XYZ color spaces and color theory.
  • Familiarity with LED operation, including light-emitting behavior, scattering effects, and evaluation of optical materials.
  • Experience with camera systems, especially color correction, ISP tuning, and image quality calibration.
  • Ability to write simple Python or MATLAB scripts for data analysis, automation, or image processing.
  • Ability to collaborate across engineering, process, and manufacturing teams.
  • Ability to analyze production test data, identify issues, and investigate root causes of color or optical problems.
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as Optical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Color Science.
  • Ability to read technical papers and write basic reports in English.
  • At least 3 years of experience testing or validating optical components or systems.

Responsibilities

  • Take charge of color calibration and image quality improvements for camera modules, including ISP tuning and validation across different product lines.
  • Work with optics, hardware, firmware, manufacturing, and process engineering teams to evaluate LED light behavior and material scattering, especially for LED inspection and Ethernet connector applications.
  • Plan and run experiments to validate color gamut, LED uniformity, and scattering characteristics using scientific approaches.
  • Write Python or MATLAB scripts to automate testing, process production data, and support image analysis workflows.
  • Review factory test results, including LED luminance, color variation, and connector inspection data, to identify issues and help improve yield and performance.
  • Support R&D in color science by assessing new materials, fine-tuning optical designs, and improving color consistency.
  • Document findings in technical reports and participate in cross-regional discussions with global teams.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in LED inspection, optical component validation, or Ethernet connector optical testing.
  • Familiarity with mass production environments and manufacturing data systems such as MES and SPC.
  • Knowledge of camera sensor behavior, lens effects, and light-material interaction.
  • Involvement in camera module development or consumer electronics imaging products.
  • Ownership of cross-functional development projects from concept to mass production.
  • At least 6 years of relevant industry experience.
