Requirements
  • Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
  • Knowledge of the sport is required.
  • Applicants must follow YMCA policies and procedures related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergency procedures.
  • Applicants must be able to respond to safety and emergency situations.
  • Employees must adhere to abuse prevention policies, maintain appropriate boundaries, complete required training, report suspicious or inappropriate behavior, and comply with mandated reporting requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Officiate games in accordance with YMCA rules and guidelines.
  • Create a safe, enjoyable, positive, and inclusive environment for youth and teen participants and families.
  • Develop positive relationships with participants.
  • Set up and take down equipment and report equipment needs.
  • Attend required staff meetings and approved trainings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Current state-approved first aid certification is preferred.
  • Current state-approved cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification is preferred.
  • Experience officiating sports is preferred.
  • Knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations is preferred.
  • Ability to speak a language in addition to English may be helpful.
