Bare Beans launches nationwide direct-to-consumer fresh bean shipping.

Bare Beans launches nationwide direct-to-consumer fresh bean shipping. BySophie October 6, 2026 Bare Beans is opening its refrigerated bean business directly to U.S. consumers for the first time. The Idaho company launched online ordering on October 6, 2026, allowing shoppers to buy its fresh, ready-to-eat beans for home delivery instead of relying only on food-service or select retail channels. The direct-to-consumer launch marks a new phase for Bare Beans, which has spent the past eight years supplying restaurants and institutional customers through partners including Sysco, US Foods, Bitchin' Sauce and Sizzler. Table of Contents What is new about the Bare Beans launch? The beans themselves are not new. Bare Beans has been producing refrigerated, kettle-cooked beans since 2018. What changed on October 6 is who can buy them and how: the company has now opened its online store to consumers, giving home cooks direct access to the full lineup. Bare Beans says this is the first time its fresh beans are available to shoppers nationwide through its own e-commerce channel. Which Bare Beans varieties are available? The direct-to-consumer assortment includes five varieties: * Pinto beans * Garbanzo beans * Black beans * Navy beans * Red beans Each variety contains one ingredient: cooked beans. According to the company, the beans are kettle-cooked, rinsed, drained and packed cold without added salt, preservatives, coloring agents or firming agents. How much does the Bare Beans Discovery Pack cost? At the time of writing, Bare Beans lists its 10-pack Discovery Pack for $49.99 with free shipping. The pack includes two pouches of each of the five varieties. The company ships the product cold, with a 90-day refrigerated shelf life. Its current online shipping information says standard e-commerce delivery is available in the contiguous United States; Alaska and Hawaii are not currently supported because of the refrigerated shipping requirements. Why Bare Beans is different from canned beans. Bare Beans positions its product as a refrigerated alternative to both dry and canned beans. The company says the beans are rehydrated overnight, kettle-cooked and then vacuum-sealed cold rather than cooked inside a can. One pouch is designed to replace one can in recipes, with no liquid to drain. The beans can be used in soups, salads, stews, casseroles and other recipes that normally call for canned beans. Find Recipes The DTC push is backed by new funding. The company says its consumer expansion follows a $2.79 million seed investment from Raven Indigenous Capital Partners. Bare Beans plans to use that funding to support the direct-to-consumer push, with additional retail expansion expected to follow. Bare Beans was founded by Michelle Huff, an enrolled member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa. The company is Indigenous- and woman-owned and operates from its family farm and production facility in Idaho. Every online purchase also supports food programs. Bare Beans says its giving model extends to the new online store. For every pound sold online, the company says it will donate one pound to Indigenous food sovereignty programs and food banks across the U.S. and Canada. Try New Foods Quick questions. Can consumers now buy Bare Beans online? Yes. Bare Beans launched its direct-to-consumer online store on October 6, 2026, making its refrigerated beans available for home delivery. Why is Sysco stock sliding today?

Why is Sysco stock sliding today? Published Sep 15, 2026, 06:31 AM (C) Reuters. Investing.com - Sysco stock is sliding 1.3% in pre-open trading today, hitting $82.49, after the foodservice distribution giant announced late Monday a $1.0 billion common stock offering priced at $81.00 per share - a discount of roughly 3% to the prior session's close of $83.54 - to partially finance its pending acquisition of Jetro Restaurant Depot. The pricing of 12,345,679 shares at that level, with the offering expected to close on September 16, immediately signaled near-term dilution to existing shareholders and drove a sharp after-hours selloff that has extended into this morning's pre-market session. The broader financing picture surrounding the Jetro Restaurant Depot deal adds to investor unease. The $29.1 billion transaction - one of the largest in the foodservice sector's history - is being funded primarily through approximately $21 billion in new and hybrid debt, with the equity offering representing an additional layer of shareholder dilution. Compounding the pressure, Sysco has paused its share repurchase program to prioritize paying down leverage by at least 1.0x within the first 24 months following the deal's close, removing a meaningful support mechanism for the stock. The broader U.S. equity market is providing little cushion, with the S&P 500 slipping 0.3%, the Dow Jones easing 0.5%, and the Nasdaq declining 0.3% in pre-market trading. Sysco's primary competitor in the foodservice distribution space, US Foods, operates in the same macro environment of cost pressures and shifting restaurant demand, though no specific competitor catalyst is driving today's move in SYY. -3.03 (-3.63%) Real-time Data · 11:57:00 · USD Taken together, the combination of a dilutive equity raise priced at a discount, a suspended buyback program, and a massive debt-funded acquisition has weighed on investor sentiment, pushing Sysco shares toward the lower end of their recent trading range despite the company's strategic rationale for expanding into the cash-and-carry foodservice channel. Walgreens, US Foods, Petco and More Recognized in the Inaugural Class of Top Supply Chain Leaders by SPS Commerce

The Associated Press Aug 19, 2026, 8:10 AM Walgreens, US Foods, Petco and more recognized in the inaugural class of Top Supply Chain Leaders by SPS Commerce. MINNEAPOLIS-(BUSINESS WIRE)-Aug 19, 2026- SPS Commerce (NASDAQ: SPSC), the leading intelligent supply chain network, today announced the inaugural class of its Top Supply Chain Leaders, recognizing an initial 50 operational leaders and their teams from organizations across the U.S. and Canada, including Walgreens, US Foods, Petco, Fastenal, Ace Hardware, Gordon Food Service, and Canadian Tire. The recognition celebrates leadership in driving innovation, resilience, and operational excellence across retail, grocery, and distribution. In recent years, supply chain has become one of the most visible and strategically important functions inside an organization. Yet the leaders responsible for navigating disruption, modernizing operations, transforming with AI, and strengthening customer relationships often do not get the public recognition they deserve. SPS Commerce created the "Top Supply Chain Leaders" list to close that gap. As the leading intelligent supply chain network, trusted by seven of the top ten largest retailers per NRF and over two-thirds of today's fastest growing brands by Bain & Company, SPS is uniquely positioned to highlight the retailers, brands, manufacturers, distributors, and logistics providers that are setting a high bar for future operations. "The future of supply chain won't be defined by technology alone, but by the leaders who know how to use it to solve increasingly complex business challenges," said Tony DiPaolo, General Manager of Retail at SPS Commerce. "These honorees and their teams are setting a new standard for operational excellence while helping their organizations become more resilient, collaborative, and better prepared for what's next in the Agentic AI era. We're proud to recognize these individuals whose work often happens behind the scenes but positively impacts millions of consumers every day." As AI, automation and increasingly connected trading networks transform supply chain operations, SPS Commerce believes the industry's greatest competitive advantage remains the people who successfully bring those technologies together to solve real-world operational challenges. "We are honored to be recognized by SPS Commerce alongside so many accomplished leaders across retail, grocery, and distribution," said Jeff Swiney, Director, Supply Chain & Logistics at K-VA-T Food Stores (Food City). "This acknowledgement reflects our team's commitment to building stronger partnerships, embracing innovation, and finding better ways to keep products moving for the customers and communities we serve, despite an increasingly complex business environment." The inaugural list was selected by SPS Commerce based on their demonstrated leadership, industry impact, and commitment to advancing supply chain excellence. Additional leaders will be recognized in the coming months, completing the inaugural class of Top Supply Chain Leaders for 2026, with plans to continue an annual list in subsequent years. US Foods beats Q2 estimates with $10.5B revenue, AI initiatives in early stages

US Foods reported second-quarter results that beat Wall Street expectations, with revenue of $10.53 billion and adjusted earnings per share of $1.44. The foodservice distributor attributed its performance to strong independent restaurant case growth and gains in healthcare and hospitality sectors. CEO David Flitman highlighted accelerated net new account generation and deeper penetration with existing customers as key drivers. The company's Pronto delivery service rollout and vendor management initiatives supported profitability and cash flow. During the earnings call, analysts focused on the new sales compensation plan's impact on growth and the scalability of AI investments. Flitman described AI as being in the "early innings" but expects it to drive sales productivity and customer engagement over time. Sales volumes increased 1.9% year-on-year.
