Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Business/Commercial or Manufacturing/Engineering is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance is required.
  • Three to five years of experience engaging with customers and suppliers is required.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision is required.
  • Proficiency in 8D, corrective action reports, and quality systems is required.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Advanced Product Quality Planning, Production Part Approval Process, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis is required.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 is required.
  • Understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes is required.
  • Ability to adapt to diverse and dynamic environments is required.
  • Strong planning and prioritization skills are required.
  • Effective communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities are required.
  • Proficient problem-solving skills are required.
  • Understanding of health and safety practices is required.

Responsibilities
  • Build working relationships with customer and in-house commercial teams to ensure complete and transparent communication and support.
  • Coordinate activities to evaluate and resolve technically challenging engineering and quality-related problems encountered at the customer's facility.
  • Determine and collect relevant data for product and installation improvements, understand problems, and decide when to escalate issues.
  • Investigate reports of defective, damaged, or malfunctioning parts, assemblies, equipment, or systems to determine the nature and scope of customer problems.
  • Initiate containment of stock at all locations and prevent further nonconforming production.
  • Investigate faults and the extent of potential recalls.
  • Examine defective parts for conformance to engineering design drawings or specifications.
  • Identify anomalies on engineering drawings and communicate them to the design function.
  • Maintain records and ensure engineering drawings and documents are current and engineering-related production problems and resolutions are documented.
  • Provide the company with feedback on quality issues.
  • Evaluate findings, formulate corrective action plans, and coordinate implementation.
  • Control clean cutoffs and ensure containment is managed while corrective actions are implemented.
  • Organize rework of finished goods when necessary.
  • Report root causes, containment measures, and corrective actions to the customer to ensure resolution.
  • Review engineering specifications, orders, and related information to maintain current knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities.
  • Assist with quality-awareness training.
  • Monitor and report key performance indicators to support process adherence and prevent product, process, or system nonconformities.
  • Assist with new product introduction, represent the customer, and support and manage pre-production trial runs and first-off sample approvals.
  • Promote customer-preferred continuous-improvement techniques such as Six Sigma, Poka-Yoke, and Kaizen.
  • Participate in developing and refining Design and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analyses and represent the customer's views.
  • Manage and coordinate customer parts-per-million, defective output, defective parts per unit, cost recovery, and supplier warranty indicators.
  • Keep current with manufacturing and engineering trends relevant to the customer's product.
  • Contribute to continuous-improvement activities.
  • Perform quality control through appropriate reviews.
  • Support and lead process-improvement activities.
  • Write reports and present progress at project meetings and to clients.
  • Plan projects and subtasks so they can be tracked and presented.
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems.
  • Provide advice and guidance to management teams as required.
  • Support internal departments in maintaining and improving product quality.
  • Communicate with IEM and customer management.
  • Liaise and communicate with other departments, customers, and service providers.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams developing new products or changes to current products to meet customer requirements.
  • Develop quality relationships with the customer.
  • Comply with in-house and customer health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Perform additional duties assigned to support the team and organization.
