Requirements
  • An Associate’s degree or equivalent education from a two-year college or technical school is required.
  • At least 5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • The ability to travel in the local market regularly and occasionally travel overnight is required.
  • The ability to climb ladders is required.
  • The ability to perform moderate lifting of up to 50 pounds is required.
  • Computer skills and competency in Microsoft Office software, including Word and Excel, are required.
  • NATE certification must be achieved during the first full year as Branch Manager.
  • HVAC industry technical knowledge is preferred.
  • P&L management experience with a successful track record is preferred.
  • EPA Type I and Type II or Universal Certification is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate employees engaged in maintaining, servicing, and installing commercial HVAC equipment and accessories.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret written or verbal reports, correspondence, proposals, and blueprints.
  • Assist employees in diagnosing commercial HVAC equipment.
  • Prepare estimates and proposals.
  • Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and identify areas needing cost reduction or program improvement.
  • Requisition and maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Study production schedules and estimate labor requirements for job assignments.
  • Direct employees engaged in dismantling, assembling, and installing equipment.
  • Interpret and communicate company policies to employees.
  • Inspect and monitor work areas, examine tools and equipment, and provide employee safety training to prevent, detect, and correct unsafe conditions or procedural and safety-rule violations.
  • Ensure proper procedures are in place for reporting and managing accidents.
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders for employees and assign duties.
  • Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and processes to increase branch, customer service, or work-crew efficiency.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist employees in solving work problems.
  • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate employees to achieve performance goals.
  • Maintain time and production records.
  • Directly supervise four to ten employees.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints; and resolve problems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Lennox opens 6,000-square-foot Florida training centre to tackle HVAC technician shortage

Lennox has opened a new National Account Services headquarters and training centre in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to address the commercial HVAC technician shortage. The facility features a 6,000-square-foot training space where technicians receive hands-on instruction with commercial HVAC equipment and systems. The centre supports multiple career pathways, including skilled technician, advanced technician, lead master and manager-in-training programmes. Lennox NAS also operates a Build-A-Tech apprenticeship programme, which has trained nearly 1,600 technicians since 2016. The company is additionally constructing an 18,000-square-foot commercial HVAC experience and training centre near its Richardson, Texas headquarters. These investments aim to develop workforce skills whilst supporting consistent service delivery for national account customers across the United States.

Lennox stock plunges 20% after cutting earnings forecast to $23-24 per share
