Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • An Alaska driver's license is preferred.
  • Complete the mandatory coaching and activity adviser staff trainings on or before the first contract day.
  • Understand and adhere to the North Slope Borough School District and activity-specific policies and guidelines.
  • Follow safety procedures.
Responsibilities
  • Communicate with participants, parents, and administrators.
  • Model a high code of conduct.
  • Review the Coaches’ and Parent and Student Handbooks annually.
  • Prioritize student welfare in decision-making.
  • Produce and perform one spring and one fall concert or performance.
  • Supervise choir rehearsals via Zoom every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m.
  • Monitor behavior and ensure student participation during rehearsals.
  • Help students connect to choir rehearsals via Zoom.
  • Ensure students get home safely after each rehearsal.
  • Chaperone the Disney trip.
  • Attend mandatory meetings as scheduled.
  • Organize two village fundraisers that contribute to the overall pool of money divided among participants and chaperones.
  • Organize additional local fundraisers, as preferred, to benefit students specifically in the village.
  • Make all payments to Educational Tours, Inc. in full by the due dates at the chaperone’s expense.
