Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end execution of go-to-market activities for advanced artificial intelligence projects.
  • Engage with product managers to assess and prioritize direct customer feedback during pilot activities and drive execution through mature agile practices.
  • Lead agile cross-functional teams of systems engineers, software engineers, test engineers, and operations personnel from initial concept through deployment.
  • Meet program goals for product performance, quality, regulatory compliance, cost, schedule, and development budget.
  • Work with Product Management, Marketing, and Experience Designers to define the product, solidify the business case, and author product and experience specifications.
  • Participate in negotiations involving Business Development and Legal.
  • Provide functional leadership for program management teams, with possible direct supervision of level 1, level 2, and senior program managers.
  • Drive team growth and development plans and support individual development activities such as training, mentorship, and growth opportunities.
  • Lead scaled agile cross-functional innovation teams and execute multiple limited-scope projects simultaneously or a large program using modern project management methodologies.
  • Organize and lead scrum teams as an agile scrum master or release train engineer.
  • Drive solution execution through concept definition, requirements validation, architecture specification, and governance compliance with the Application Lifecycle Management framework.
  • Translate customer problems into solution requirements.
  • Lead system integration planning, release management, and planning for demonstrations, proofs of concept, and pilots.
  • Create cross-functional workstreams and drive execution for sales enablement, development, and deployment.
  • Build relationships and work across Sales, Services, Information Technology, Finance, Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Support.
  • Define proof of value and customer return on investment with the business.
  • Organize and present business, technical, and program reviews and status updates to senior leadership using digital media, dashboards, and JIRA agile project management tools.
  • Execute program plans and budgets for multiple large projects; recommend corrective actions and implement changes.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, develop and implement risk-mitigation plans, and secure alignment from key leaders before milestone advancement.
  • Lead multiple limited- to moderate-scope projects simultaneously or manage a larger program directly across cross-functional teams in multiple locations and time zones.
  • Motivate project teams to ensure reliable, high-quality solutions.
  • Assess cross-functional impacts of decisions, balance scope, schedule, and budget considerations, and maintain accountability for program success.
  • Coordinate deliverables and project assets, anticipate and address obstacles, engage additional resources, and adjust plans as delays or obstacles occur.
  • Apply advanced understanding of development processes and product-launch scope and activities.
  • Coach or act as an escalation point for senior program managers and lower grades.
  • Support early-stage go-to-market activities and transition to marketing.
  • Develop and protect intellectual property and apply intellectual-property fundamentals.
  • Explore the competitive landscape in product and business terms.
  • Define strategic initiatives that align the business with agile product development and work with Portfolio Management to align strategic goals with the innovation feature roadmap.
  • Assist in developing business plans, strategies, and approaches to take advantage of business opportunities.
  • Initiate strategic partnerships with technology companies, including startups, developing adjacent solution elements, and partner with Zebra Ventures to identify value-added entities.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree.
  • Understanding of the components of the artificial intelligence development lifecycle from both development and go-to-market perspectives.
  • Experience driving efficiencies through artificial intelligence, with work history in automation and digital transformation.
  • Interface software development knowledge.
  • Experience with production agile flow processes and standard toolsets such as JIRA, Confluence, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Past responsibility for multiple significant delivered-to-market solutions in asset intelligence, including location services, machine learning, and machine vision.
  • Experience with cloud development and software/services development integration, as well as mobile application development for Android or iOS.
  • Experience working independently and as part of a team to solve difficult technical, quality, cost, and schedule challenges, including expertise in risk management practices.
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills.

  • Experience building teams, collaborating, managing resources, and demonstrating interpersonal skills.

Chief executive Bill Burns attributed the record results to broad-based demand and strong supplier relationships.
