Requirements
  • EMT Instructor Certification is required.
  • At least one year of experience teaching Basic Life Support courses is required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and community partners.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Ability to effectively deliver educational content and facilitate classroom instruction is required.
Responsibilities
  • Instruct and facilitate classroom-based EMT initial certification and recertification courses offered through the Emergency Medical Services Department.
  • Deliver educational programs that support student learning and successful completion of EMT training requirements.
  • Collaborate with the EMS Training Division, Community Training Center leadership, and staff to maintain high-quality instructional standards.
  • Promote a positive learning environment that encourages student participation, knowledge retention, and professional development.
  • Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of EMS education programs to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Work closely with training personnel to provide effective and consistent EMT education to students and community participants.
Desired Qualifications
  • New Jersey EMT, Emergency Medical Dispatcher, or Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic certification is preferred.
