Canelo, WWE stay on Saudi sports calendar despite U.S. Security alerts.

Canelo, WWE stay on Saudi sports calendar despite U.S. Security alerts. The sporting events in Saudi Arabia are all part of Riyadh Season, which is set to begin Wednesday. Oct 19, 2026 | 02:02 pm REUTERS/Hamad I Mohammed Want more from Front Office Sports in your search results? The U.S. has issued multiple security alerts for citizens in Saudi Arabia following continued chaos in the country due to the U.S.-Iran war. But several major sporting events are still scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia in the coming weeks as a part of the country's Riyadh Season 2026. "Americans currently in the Middle East should exercise heightened vigilance due to the complex security environment. Be aware of potential flight cancellations, airspace closures, and travel disruptions," read an alert Sunday from the U.S. Embassy & Consulates in Saudi Arabia. The following day, the Department of State sent a travel alert that gave a similar warning to citizens in the Middle East region. The warnings come more than a week after Houthi rebels, a group backed by Iran, launched a missile strike on Riyadh's international airport that killed 12 people. The airport was also closed for more than a week before reopening Sunday, though several airlines have continued to cancel flights to Saudi Arabia's capital. But Riyadh Season, a 10-week event starting Oct. 21 featuring several entertainment experiences, including sporting events, is still pushing forward - for now. The Six Kings Slam, an exhibition tennis tournament featuring Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz that was originally scheduled to begin on the opening day of Riyadh Season, was postponed to December due to "organizational and logistical challenges." However, there have been no changes to the boxing match between Canelo Álvarez and Christian Mbilli on Oct. 31 or the WWE premium live event Crown Jewel on Nov. 7. "Canelo reached out and told me he'll still fight in Riyadh this October, no matter what happens. He fears nothing," Saudi government official Turki Alalshikh wrote on X last week. He added that "hard times reveal true friends." It's unclear if there are any contractual reschedule or cancel stipulations for these events, but any cancellation would likely be costly. After Crown Jewel, WWE - which has had a partnership with Saudi Arabia since 2018 - is scheduled to hold WrestleMania 43, its flagship event in April 2027. Morgan Stanley "conservatively" estimates that WWE is receiving $150 million in site fees for WrestleMania 43. UFC, whose parent company TKO also owns WWE, has an event in Riyadh on Dec. 5, which CEO Dana White said on Saturday remains planned as scheduled. "We're going," White said. There are also multiple motorsports events scheduled in Saudi Arabia that have not been moved: the FIA Extreme H World Cup from Oct. 29-31, Rally Saudi Arabia from Nov. 11-14, and Formula E from Dec. 18-19. WWE & Montez Ford sued over controversial RAW lap dance segment - report.

WWE & Montez Ford sued over controversial RAW lap dance segment - report. October 15, 2026 WWE and Street Profits star Montez Ford are facing a lawsuit over an alleged unwanted interaction during the July 6 episode of Monday Night RAW in Rosemont, Illinois. The plaintiff claims the televised incident continued to affect his personal and professional life after footage circulated online. According to a report by POST Wrestling's Brandon Thurston, Cook County Sheriff's officer Noel Lucas filed the lawsuit on Oct. 14 in the Circuit Court of Cook County. WWE, Ford, whose legal name is Kenneth Crawford, and WWE subsidiary Event Services, LLC, are named as defendants. WWE and Montez Ford face 14 counts in security guard's lawsuit. Lucas was working off-duty security at the Allstate Arena when the incident allegedly occurred during the Street Profits' entrance. The lawsuit claims Ford approached Lucas without consent and performed a sexually provocative dance, repeatedly moving his hips and pelvis toward the officer. The complaint includes 14 counts. It includes allegations of assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and violations of the Illinois Gender Violence Act. Lucas also alleges that WWE and Ford used his image commercially without permission, claiming a violation of the Illinois Right of Publicity Act. According to the filing, the clip gained hundreds of thousands of views online. Lucas claims members of the public later recognized and mocked him at his full-time workplace. Moreover, his children were reportedly ridiculed at school over the footage. His attorney, Whitney Barr, said Lucas works a second job to help provide for his children. The lawsuit seeks unspecified monetary and punitive damages, legal costs, and an order preventing WWE and Ford from using Lucas's identity. The current Netflix version of the July 6 RAW reportedly cuts away early during the Street Profits' entrance. Nevertheless, footage of the interaction remains available online. WWE had not responded to POST Wrestling's request for comment by Thursday evening, according to the report. A case management hearing is scheduled for Dec. 10. The allegations have not been established as facts in court, and the lawsuit remains a legal matter involving the parties named in the complaint. For WWE, an entrance that was part of the televised show has become the subject of a legal dispute, with developments expected to unfold through the court process. WWE and Montez Ford sued over alleged "lap dance" With security guard during RAW.

WWE and Montez Ford sued over alleged "lap dance" With security guard during RAW. Follow Us To Stay Connected With Its Updates WWE and Montez Ford are facing a lawsuit over a moment from the July 6 episode of Monday Night RAW that a Cook County Sheriff's officer says crossed the line. Noel Lucas, who was working off-duty security at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois, filed suit Wednesday in Cook County Circuit Court against WWE, Ford, whose legal name is Kenneth Crawford, and WWE subsidiary Event Services, LLC. Lucas is accusing the defendants of 14 counts, including assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress and violations of the Illinois Gender Violence Act. The incident happened during The Street Profits' entrance as Ford and Angelo Dawkins made their way toward the ring. According to the lawsuit, Lucas had been instructed by a WWE employee to work near ringside when Ford approached him during the live Netflix broadcast. The complaint claims Ford began performing a sexualized dance directly in front of Lucas without warning or consent. Lucas alleges Ford continued moving closer to him as the bit went on. "Defendant Crawford then began performing a sexually provocative dance immediately in front of and over Plaintiff [Lucas], repeatedly thrusting and gyrating his hips and pelvis towards Plaintiff, performing a sexualized 'lap dance.'" "[Crawford] moved his body increasingly closer to [Lucas]; continued the lap dance." The lawsuit also claims Ford's "left inner thigh repeatedly rubbed against Plaintiff's leg." Lucas says the situation became even worse once video of the interaction spread online. According to the complaint, footage received hundreds of thousands of views and was shared through WWE and Ford's social media accounts. Lucas claims the exposure made him recognizable when he returned to his full-time job at a courthouse the following day. The lawsuit alleges members of the public recognized Lucas and mocked him by recreating the motions from the RAW segment. "Members of the public recognized him from the videos of the encounter that had circulated on social media and mocked him, thrusting their hips in his direction, imitating the sexual movements." Lucas also claims his children have been mocked and ridiculed at school because of the video. His attorneys say the situation has caused him ongoing humiliation, embarrassment and emotional distress. Lucas is also accusing WWE and Ford of improperly using his likeness for commercial purposes under the Illinois Right of Publicity Act. Attorney Whitney Barr addressed the lawsuit in a statement provided to POST Wrestling. "Like so many law enforcement officers, Mr. Lucas works a second job in order to better provide for his children." Lucas works for the Cook County Sheriff's Department while also supervising security personnel for Monterrey Security, which is how he ended up working the WWE event. As of Thursday evening, the version of the July 6 RAW episode available on Netflix no longer showed the interaction. The broadcast appears to cut to a break early in The Street Profits' entrance, although footage of the moment remains available elsewhere online. Lucas is seeking unspecified monetary damages, punitive damages and legal costs. He is also asking the court to prevent WWE and Ford from using his identity. A case management hearing is scheduled for December 10. WWE had not issued a response to the lawsuit at the time of the original story. The lawsuit now puts a moment that originally played out as part of The Street Profits' entrance under a much different spotlight, with Lucas arguing that what WWE presented as entertainment caused problems that followed him away from the arena and into his personal life. What do you make of the allegations against WWE and Montez Ford, and do you think performers should have stricter boundaries when interacting with security and other non-performers during entrances?
